The week before me
Dec. 17th, 2012 09:22 amEven in the context of my now simple life, this week is a quiet one. The only thing on the books - besides swimming - is the unemployment office visit on Wednesday.
So... the weather which is looking like it might turn nasty, won't bother me as far as I can tell. It's a luxury to not have to go any place and to live high up on the 4th floor with 3 feet of terrace to protect me. Wind, floods, snow... there's still a lot that can get me but I feel like I'm, at least, not low hanging fruit.
I spent way too many hours with Downton Abbey yesterday.
I remembered back in the olden days when Upstairs/Downstairs first aired. It was party TV. I was living in Southern Pines, NC and had a nice little cadre of buds. We would all gather at my house (because I had the big living room) each week to spend an hour in old Britain. VCRs were as available as jet packs are today. Event TV was fun then but I am sure glad that era is gone!
Betty says she needs more breakfast so I'd better get up and get serving.
