For some reason I can't put my finger on, I'm not that interested in hitting the pool today. I don't have anything else going on and no reason not to go.  I've still got an hour an a half to decide and I'm guessing at the end of that time, I'll be suited up and pool bound.

The only other thing on the agenda today is birthday dinner with neighbors Ann and Ron.  It's his birthday and we're off to one of my very favorite restaurants in town - a French place.  This will be the third year I've done this with them - his birthday at this restaurant.  It's rather a treat for me.  He drives so I drink.  And the food is always wonderful.  We go rather early (6ish) which suits me fine.

I got all caught up with Downton and now it's on to Leverage (which I just read is cancelled... sigh) and Burn Notice and some others I have stacking up on TiVo.  January will bring new seasons of some favorites.  The Roku us working out really really well.  It's so snappy and non-tempermental.  I think I'm going to cancel HBO today and Netflix after Christmas.  I already pay for Amazon Prime and their Prime Instant Streaming has a lot of content now and Roku makes it fun to watch.

My 'Christmas' is CES.  I get to spend quality time with my brother - just the two of us wallowing in cool tech stuff.  There's a chance he will bail (work, wife, something might happen) but even if he does there's still the wallowing in cool tech stuff.  I went by myself last year.  It was ok but I said I wouldn't do that again and I lied.  If something happens that prevents my brother from going, I'll go and enjoy the heck out of myself.

I even have my little Take To CES pile started.

I did go to the pool and soon remembered why I shouldn't have.  It was packed.  Packed with people who do not normally swim during the times I do and who do not know the rules of the road but think that they are there to not only swim but to tell us regulars what to do.

When one woman yelled at Yuli (part of the Asian couple who are there with me every Monday), I was getting ready to yell back when Alvin, one of the lifeguards, stepped in and explained to her how we do things.  She wasn't happy.  Yuli was embarrassed.  Bin, his wife, was embarrassed and I was pissed.  Then another non-regular woman started bitching and I decided that 30 minutes was enough pool time for me.

In the dressing room, one of the really old people who have a shallow end class at noon was listening to me gripe and said, in total sympathy, "I hate it when people like that assume the pubic in public pool includes them!"

I would have high fived or fist bumped her but didn't want to hurt her.

A while back I finally got Amazon to agree to put that POS delivery company OnTrac on the bottom of my list of shippers to use.  As a result, I have not had them deliver a package until today and ... I sat here and watched the guy fuck it up.  They have a key to the back door, and explicit instructions.  I watched him at the front door using the call system, which they are not allowed to do.  He called me and let it ring ONE time.  He hung up before I could get the phone out of my pocket.

Their website says he left the package in the mail room.  I'll go down after I finish my mocha and check.  Part of me hopes it's not there so I can bitch to Amazon again.  I want those people out of my life for good and forever.

I had to go out a while ago to drop off something and on the way passed 5 different shops selling Seahawks stuff (being so close to the stadium means we're crammed with them around here).  Each was packed to the gills.  I am so grateful that 1.  There's no Seahawks stuff I want or need to buy today.  2.  I kinda wish I had a truckload to sell today - talk about the golden goose!!

And my 11" chromebook does not even come close to fitting into a neoprine sleeve advertised as 11.6" - somebody's fudging the nums.
