I need a blow job
Aug. 13th, 2014 08:51 amWell, actually, it's one or more of my car's tires that needs air or something. The tire warning light came on this morning on the way to the pool. I'm pretty sure it's not fatal.
It's lovely and rainy and almost cool out this morning. I think, in appreciation for reasonable weather, I'm going to step out today. I think I'll just take the tire warning over to the Mercedes dealer. It's overkill but, as it happens, the dealership is closer to my house than any tire place. And I can make an appointment for my car's annual visit. One of the greatest things about the Smart Car is that there's no fucking with oil changes or other stuff. Once a year, you take it in and they do everything and you are cool until the next year. I bought the car in August 3 years ago.
Also I may do the toilet research at Home Depot.
The house cleaner is due to be here this morning. I think maybe I'll head out once she gets here and gets going.
I am still wallowing in the wonder of not having giant purple/black bruises all over my hands and arms. Yesterday, I was packing up the tablet and moving my arms and hands around sharp edges and was just amazed at how many times I felt a hard edge that did NOT result in the ugly spots. Plus, the few I do get now, clear up in a week - as opposed to four weeks. It's amazing and it's wonderful.
Time to get up and get dressed. For early morning swims, I have this giant fat lady dress that I throw on over my suit and then throw over my naked body to get home. I still have it on and so will not really 'dress' - just switch to regular day wear.

Aug. 13th, 2014 09:52 amThe woman who cleans my house once a month is from Bosnia and has the most wonderful accent. Her daughter, who cleans with her, has zero accent and often translates when Amira can't find the right words.
Just now we were discussing how much more Zoey has been shedding this year and Amira says:
"Maybe she's bored. You should buy her boyfriend."
Instant visual, me and Zoey at the pound going cage to cage with Zoey commenting - "too fat, too lazy, bad attitude, hey, he looks like a possible..."
I am so easily amused.

not alone after all
Aug. 13th, 2014 10:07 amI got several comments on my entry about suicide and I was more than pleasantly surprised that, it turns out, I am not alone in my thoughts on this.
I've been on Live Journal now more than a dozen years and while I never started my journal nor do I really keep it up for anyone but me. I don't post quizzes or set out any entry to as a spring board for conversation.
Some turn out that way and that makes the entry even more valuable.
And some, like the suicide entry, attract comments that give me even more to think about and consider than I thought.
I've had a full, rich life and been very lucky but one of the very luckiest things has turned out to be finding and falling in love with Live Journal.
I've been on Live Journal now more than a dozen years and while I never started my journal nor do I really keep it up for anyone but me. I don't post quizzes or set out any entry to as a spring board for conversation.
Some turn out that way and that makes the entry even more valuable.
And some, like the suicide entry, attract comments that give me even more to think about and consider than I thought.

Aug. 13th, 2014 11:47 amI took the car in and they took it away for what they said would be a short amount of time and ended up being 45 minutes. And, they didn't fix it. But, they did wash it and vacuumed the inside and it didn't cost me anything. So... I don't think I lost. The tire light came back on when I pulled into my garage. Sigh. Oh well.
I did make an appointment a week from Friday for its annual checkup.
Then I went toilet shopping. Turns out standing in front of a bunch of wall mounted toilets gives me the same amount of non-info that the internet does. So I came home and called the guy who's web page I found. We think I want a Toto Drake II. I told him I didn't really care when as long as it was a Monday, Wednesday or Friday (my early swims make doing stuff on those days way easier). He said he'd have his son 'shoot you over some paperwork [via email] later today with date options'. Perfect.
I am resigned to the fact that Robin Williams will consume Twitter for the foreseeable future and maybe beyond. What.Ev.Er.
I have this really good ham and some swiss cheese for a great sandwich. And, Anita cut up a bunch of veggies for me that will be great for munching for the next few days. I should do that for myself and, honestly, just never think about it.
