On my way to the pool this morning, I drove through hollywood rain. In Seattle, we normally get mist to showers. Except on TV or in movies. When Seattle is depicted it's always in a downpour. Usually with thunder.  No thunder this morning but lots and lots of rain.  Near the schools, it created a mess. I got yelled at my a crossing guard. I was sorry but his buddy on my side of the street did not have his flag out so I proceeded very slowly and the yeller - on the other side who did have his flag out - landed at my window yelling. I do hope his day gets better.

My swim was a good one. Nothing outstanding. Just a steady swim in a lane by myself listening to music and solving the world's problems in my mind.

When I took my car in for its checkup, they said I needed two wheels replaced. They didn't have the wheels so had to order them. The guy said it would be a week and he'd call me. A month went by with no word. Then yesterday I got a rather snotty voicemail telling me (not asking) to call and set up an appointment for next week.  This new dealership really annoys me.  I sent an email saying that next week didn't suit me and to please give me a 9:30 am appointment on the 6th, 8th, or 10th. I got no reply. I don't really give a shit. I'm not sure why getting the wheels replaced are safety critical. And it's going to cost me $700. So we do it at my convenience, if we do it at all. So there.

My latest induction burner is going back to Amazon. It's sthe same wattage as my other one but way slower. The point of an induction burner is speed. A slow induction burner has very little point. So back it goes.  I taped up the broken buttons on my old one and I think I'm just going to use it for a while until it well and truly dies. Finding a replacement just isn't working out.

This morning I made a batch of my egg muffins and got distracted at the time I was supposed to take them out of the oven so they got nearly double baking time. 50 minutes! They were darker than usual but after they cooled, I had one to test and they were better!! hmmmm interesting. Next test will be after they have been chilled and then nuked. But interesting.  And now I have 11 days of breakfast.

Today in the mail, I got a package from my insurance company... 2 inches thick $6.60 postage.  Hello Premera, one word for you.... INTERNET.  It's coming up on Pick A New Plan If You Want To season.  I think I'll prbably just leave well enough alone.  I was going to switch to a plan with vision coverage BUT then I discovered that while my plan does not have traditional vision coverage, it does cover treatment and checkups for age related macular degeneration which is the only eye issue I have so we're cool there.  And, I know from experience, that changing is painful - especially with my many and expensive breathing drugs. So, unless I'm going to save a fuckton, best leave well enough alone and so it's likely I will.

I'm so enjoying the cloudy and cool.  There are a couple of days in the 10 day forecast that look liek there might be afternoon sun but mostly it looks like I could be spared at least unitl my new shades arrive.  The Mariners are playing now - clinging to the very edge of post season. Although they have less than a whisper of a prayer, it makes for better game watching when all is not officially lost.

I have Scorpion recorded and I think I'll watch it tonight after the game. It looks promising so I hope they didn't fuck it up.

Scopion.... [livejournal.com profile] mrdreamjeans gave me a hint that this one was good and he was spot on. It was ridiculously improbable, technically fictional,  loaded with great characters acted by a nicely picked cast.  I actually think this one might not get killed immediately and I am looking forward to next week.  Sweet!
