Today is another Seahawks home game but I'm busting out of the neighborhood this time. [livejournal.com profile] unzeugmatic is here in Seattle for a conference and I'm meeting him downtown for brunch. He used to be an active member of the Life Journal community and a star of my friends list. I met him face to face 7 years ago when he threw a party for his friends at my house. It was a great great party. That may be the last time he was in Seattle. I haven't seen him since. I'm excited to get to see him today.

My internet connection this morning is excruciatingly slow. It's definitely Comcast this time. My internet radio was spitting out sound intermittently so I finally fired up the wireless speaker and got NPR through T-Mobile on my phone. A nice alternative.

We've been promised two different broadband internet alternatives for a while now. The building manager who isn't big on facts, keeps telling us Real Soon Now. I have no idea if he's misinformed or covering up misinformation or just blowing smoke. One of these two outfits has a good reputation but still... so far we have nothing but promises. I'm ready to try an alternative but Comcast is usually more reliable than today. Slow, but reliable. Usually.

At the risk of a major jinx, both of my hands this morning are very nearly free of those ugly blood bruises. My arms still have some that are healing but no fresh ones. Amazing and particularly wonderful since I'm going to actually be eating with someone else. It's so hard to hide my hands and eat at the same time. It's luxurious to have regular looking hands.

I had the very best, very French breakfast with the even better visit with [livejournal.com profile] unzeugmatic. It was such fun to catch up and hear his tales. He brought me the most adorable clock from my childhood. It's an actual travel clock that folds up and has a little hole to put the plug (yes, kids, it plugs in!) in. It's perfect to have by the fish bed. It's very Steven and I treasure it.

We met at a place a little over a mile from here. I walked over and took the bus about half way. The half I walked was not really uphill but definitely inclined and it was a struggle. I think my issues with uphill are maybe partially mental and the rest pulmonary. I had to stop and rest several times but I made it and was fine once I got there and sat down.

I walked the entire way coming home. It was a slow walk because of the Seahawks crowds but I did pretty well except for the last block by which time I had lost all of my steam. It was mostly downhill but it was nearly a mile so I was kind of impressed at my poor sad lungs.

Now I'm home and not quite recovered but getting there.

The internet is still very iffy but Comcast is admitting issues so it's not just me and they are working on it. And I have enough of a connection to get by and, apparently, the TV part of Comcast isn't affected so whew. It looks like CBS Sunday morning got recorded and that's the important thing.
