This morning the air quality is back up to okdokey! I got this cool little phone app with an elephant and info. His trunk was way down in the orange this weekend. Yesterday evening my phone beeped and it was the Elephant telling me he'd upgraded my air. Green is way better.
Life with phone apps is so nice. Today via an app, I can now order from Amazon and have it delivered in an hour. So cool.
Today, after my swim, I need to whip by the library and then the fabric shop. I discovered yesterday that I can turn any fabric into a kind of oil cloth but a more malleable kind of oil cloth. It's an iron on vinyl that is easy to sew on. I love quilting prints but I'm not wild about quilting. But using those fabrics for bags and other stuff could be great fun.
There are a couple of other stops on my list. Tomorrow is an afternoon Mariner game so I need to do today whatever I would do tomorrow when traffic will make trying to do stuff on the way home from the pool would not be fun.
Hopefully it will stay cool today at least until I get my errands done. It seems like the summer tide has turned. When the temperature rises, it's later the in the day and does not last as long or get as hot and the days are getting obviously shorter. I am almost to the 'Whew, survived another summer' sigh of relief. Nice!

Oh the choices
Aug. 25th, 2015 01:29 pm"Oh Menis... " As I was leaving the locker room this is what I heard behind me. And there was my buddy. The only guy who works there to whom I am not invisible. He checked me in one day and saw my name and said 'oh, dear.. I already have a Susie Q... you can be Dennis the Menis!' If I am in his sight, he is saying hi and today he even gave me a hug. The only other person who regularly greets me is the locker room cleaner who is nice but always chews my ear off about the weekend locker room cleaner who is not at all up to her standards.
But, regardless, it's still nice to have gym friends.
My new iPod died this morning mid swim! It's so new that it's still in the Amazon free send it back window. Which I did. And opted for a replacement which will be here Thursday. So I had to fight the backup. The backup is a warranty replacement from another company that has never worked right. The buttons are way too stiff and it keeps locking itself. But, I managed to get it working enough for my swim tomorrow and Thursday and thankgod for a back up even a difficult one. Swimming for an hour with just my naked brain? Not doable.
I did not forget the library. Yeah me. And then the fabric store. Where I learned they now make chalkboard fabric!!! It's really stiff but it's sewable. Wild. I did not buy any but that's about all I did not buy.
I had a ball. I know there are a couple of bags there and maybe a wallet and lordknows what else. But, it was senior discount day so I saved a bundle. Hehehe.
But, before I touch any of it. I have to get the neck of my sweater finished. I am knitting now.
But, regardless, it's still nice to have gym friends.

I took my sewing haul back to the fish room to put it all away and then rearranged the sewing stuff and then selected cut out the fabric for a purse, pulled out the appropriate zippers and cut out the vinyl. I'm going to vinyl-ize the wrong side of the fabric to avoid the bulk of a lining, I think.
I quit because it got hot back there and I need to work on my sweater and go get the mail. There is not enough time even when you are retired??!!

There was a cop - fully uniformed - standing in the middle of a major highway where it divides to go off to a city street and off to the interstate. He was holding a cardboard sign. I couldn't see what the sign said. Once I passed him, I saw his patrol car about 500 yards up the road. Very strange. Very.
Then, at the library, there was a whiteboard sign announcing "Speed Dating Event. Chinese Millennials. Saturday at 7 pm in the Community Room." This just cracked me up and still does the more I think about it. Can't wait for "Speed Dating Event. Old White People. Sunday 2 pm in the Community Room". Actually, I can wait. As long as it takes.
