Sep. 8th, 2015 08:18 amSo... after much investigation and frustration, I finally figured out what the issue is with broken photos in this journal and, hopefully, how to fix it. It happened once before and I knew something was up but I didn't realize that the mysterious change meant my pictures were no longer visible. I will try to keep on top of it but do appreciate a heads up when photos are broken.
I used to use Flickr but left when they dropped the easy link to LJ. I went back this morning to see what they were offering these days... er, yeah, no. I really have zero interest in starting a new service OR housing photos in my own space. Plus, I like Google Photos a lot ... when they work!
I think this one works. At least, I hope so.
It's the living room loveseat now at the end of my bed. And... I like it! It's always bothered me that this bed has no real footer. I never have a full bed spread that covers the entire mattress so the end of the bed has always looked exposed. But, not now! Plus... of course... place to toss jeans!
I may also switch the tall multicolor dresser with the tv cabinet. Just because. Maybe.
The new sofa will be here between 2-4. I got an email and an autocall and had the chance to confirm the 2 hour window with either. Quite handy. The delivery cost me $95 and so far they have provided commensurate services. nice.
Now I'm off to the pool.

Roller Coaster Day
Sep. 8th, 2015 02:16 pmToday has been the most frustrating, fun, kill everyone, yeah for some people, up and down day and it's only now 2 pm!!
The photo thing I think is still an issue but I'm sure now that it's not my issue. I opened up an imgur account for emergencies. My Windows 10 install wiped out my very tenuous and oh so frustrating connection to Audible books and getting it back was right up there with childbirth. God, I hate iTunes so so so much. An Etsy order got fucked up because the Etsy person makes some bad assumptions.
But, the photo thing will get fixed. My iPod Shuffle has a new book on it. The Etsy order is noodled out.
And... the couch deliverers came at noon instead of 2... and... the couch is WONDERFUL!!
I love how it looks. I love how it sits. And, as one of the delivery guys said 'Wow, it looks like it was made just for that spot!' And it does. I really do like it WAY better than I thought I would and I thought I'd like it a lot.

Sep. 8th, 2015 08:33 pmSo I finally set everything up so that my LJ photos will now, once again, link from Flickr.
I used Flickr for years and years until one day they turned off the easy link to LJ feature. At the same time Google upped its photo game and I switched.
To be honest, the list of features and cons for Flickr and Google Photos is nearly identical in length but the bullet items are different.
At this point, however, Flickr works and Google doesn't. That kind of swings the pendulum. Whenever I take a photo, it is uploaded to Flickr and to Google - backup. So all's cool.
But this has been a really long and frustrating day. And I didn't walk one bit so my Misfit Shine is bitching cause I'm a slug. To top off this full day, I went to the monthly home owners association board meeting. There's boat load of really annoying residents in this building. But only a couple of them show up at these meetings. Tonight, two of these annoying people got into it with each other. It was a battle of the assholes. A 70 year old woman and a 60 year old man. And neither hear well enough to understand most of what was said. It was actually kind of hilarious.
And then I came back up here to my own home to find Zoey totally sacked out on the new couch. On the up side, black cat hair is not going to show up very well on a dark brown couch. Also it doesn't make for great photography!
Packers were in the unit next door getting all the stuff move ready today. This is the next door guy who complained about my TV. He was renting the place. It was in pre-sale a month or so ago but not now. The guy who owns it lives in Arizona. Wonder what's the haps. At least I can now crank up the TV freely.
And the really really really annoying guy who often sits in with the broadcasters and ruins the baseball game for me on Tuesdays isn't there tonight!! Very very nice.
