My gym is in West Seattle, a large neighborhood which connects to downtown via a bridge. There are traffic info boards over the bridge and today one said that there was an event from 1pm to 10 pm today. The parking lot outside my terrace (just north of the football stadium) has been cleared and is being set up with coral fencing. And I can not find one single hint of what the event might be.

There is a big soccer game tomorrow but 1. it's tomorrow night and 2. it's the second one of this tournament and the first one didn't draw very many people at all.

It's a puzzlement. Guess I might find out more at 1.

My new oven is coming between 1:30 and 3. If I knew for sure there was a thing going on, I'd call and warn them. Oh well.

The other big event is the Home Owners Association meeting tonight. No baseball at all.

It's a cloudy and cool day with a wonderful breeze coming in. We had some rain this morning - enough to knock the dust off a little. I may go take a it of a walk later.

So I went back to the sewing room to make a doll and then saw that the dryer was done so I took all the clothes out and folded them and then went to get water and took my water back to the sewing room to make a doll.

And then remembered I had some swim suit fabric that I wanted to look at again so I dug that out and thought, heck, why not. So I looked for my swim suit pattern. The next hour was devoted to digging out and sorting through all patterns and organizing patterns, bags to hold patterns, notes and other crap that came out in the hunt. Found the pattern.

Then I cut out the swimsuit AND cut out copy of the pattern. I put the pattern back with the patterns and put the copy with my t-shirt pattern (aka - patterns I'm liable to use most often). Then I remembered I wanted to make some breakfast muffins cause I ate the last one this morning and I wanted to get it done before the oven got replaced.

So I did that. And then washed up those dishes and went to look for my kick board/bouy which has disappeared along with my flippers. I'm perfectly ok with the flippers disappearing but not the bouy. I think, however, that both went to Goodwill some time ago. Not huge the kic board/bouy was cheap so I thought I'd order another one. Only Amazon no longer carries them so on to swim outlet where I have choices that I have to research.

Do research, place order.

Lunch time. Make lunch. Eat lunch. Wash dishes. (I'm on this real kick to keep the kitchen tidy and so far, it's working pretty well.)

I did find two shirts and a summer bed cover that I had forgotten about when I was looking for stuff. So that's a bit of a win.

It's now 12:30. I first went to make a doll at 9. I'm off now to try again...

Oh and the 'event from 1-10?' I think Seattle Department of Transportation got their dates fucked up. I think they meant tomorrow. They are busy setting up the parking lot for the big pre-soccer match extravaganza tomorrow starting in early afternoon. It looks like it's going to be loud and merry and fun. I hope so anyway.

Lest you folks who work and have to get time off for a delivery/installation think you are special snowflakes when the assholes miss their window by a gygundo amount, you are now. Even when you are retired and home all day and it makes no difference still when they say they will be here between 1:30 and 3, and then they call at 2 to say they will be another 2 hours yet and then 4 comes and goes with no word...

I do wonder what happens when they have to take time off to wait for the cable guy? At this point I hope they have to wait all fucking day. It's just so very disrespectful. I laid down major bucks for this product and even more to have it delivered/installed and my old one removed.... So far, for my $$, time and effort, I have netted exactly squat.

I would appreciate it if they got here before my Home Owners Meeting at 6.

I did finally get my Windows 7 machine to talk to the printer. My phone, chromebooks and tablets have been printing with joy since it's a wifi printer but Windows 7 needed hand holding. But now it's there and useable so whew.

And I got two dolls done and a bear so not a bad day - just frustrating. I may sew up the swimsuit tomorrow.

Jeremy is the sales manager who's handling my sale since the salesman I had went off to training...  I just sent this note.

Jeremy,
So my delivery/installation was supposed to have been in a window that closed at 3. But you called at 2 and said it would be 2 more hours. It's now 5:15 and I haven't heard a word or seen an installer.
I'm not delighted. I paid $145 (not to mention the $1,000 for the oven) and am feeling a little disrespected here. I get that stuff happens but I think I at least deserved another phone call when your second timeline was busted.
How about we split the difference on that $145.  Pick another day - any day is fine but the first delivery of the day would be best, and refund me $72.50 and all will be good.
Ok?  I look forward to hearing from you.
Susan

10 minutes after send, I get a call from the salesman who swears this never happens is so very sorry - this is not how they treat customers. But, would it be ok if they got here about 7? NFW, sweetheart. I live in a condo building. No appliance or furniture deliveries after 5.

I was as nice as pie. I explained I wanted them to compensate me for treating me like a second hand citizen. And that I had already sent my expectations to Jeremy. "I'm just so sorry. We never treat our customers this way." Well, dude, ya have now. And, honestly, if this was the first time, I suspect the whole thing would have gone down a little differently.

He's very lucky that I'm prophylacticly replacing. I use this oven at least 2 or 3 times a day. Already I've used it 3 times today and dinner's still to come.

So this saga is not yet finished...
