I spent all day yesterday waiting for my network system from Amazon to be delivered. At 8 pm the delivery expectations were changed from 8pm to 'sometime between now and July 5.' So I ordered another to be delivered today. Sadly, it's the same delivery company that failed yesterday so I'm not at all hopeful. Happily, Amazon makes returns easy and free. But, still. Frustrating. I need to figure out a way to NOT spend today hitting refresh on the tracking page. It just makes me more frustrated.

The Mariners won another difficult game ([livejournal.com profile] rsc and [livejournal.com profile] jwg you are welcome but WTF in your game yesterday???).

Then I turned out the lights and started feeling horrible. I never ever have stomach issues. I did once for a few hours 3 or 4 years ago but that's it. Until last night. I laid in the bed suffering for a couple of hours and then got up and threw up and felt way much better and feel really fine today. So weird. I had a dinner last night that I've had before (I mean it's all food from the fridge/freezer that I've already eaten part of) and will eat again so I can't really think it's something I ate. If it's a heart attack, it must be the 2 hour kind. Cause I really do feel good this morning. Just weird.

I'm off to swim in about an hour. There's a baseball game this afternoon and I have a shirt to finish as well as more dolls as usual.

While I was swimming (which felt amazing this morning, thankgoodness), I remembered what I now think is the cause of last night's distress. Denny's. I'm going to believe that's what it was because #1. I hadn't been there in ages and I wasn't impressed so very very easy to never eat there again and #2. I don't like any of the other options.

Just had a creamy scrambled egg that was delicious. I think I'm cured from my bout with Denny-itis.

When I got out of the pool and looked at my phone, I had a text that the network system I ordered yesterday had already been delivered. It was at my door when I got home. I suspect Amazon customer service intervened. Even when they are early OnTrac rarely gets here before noon. And never do they put the package at my door. I was pretty annoyed at Amazon's customer service reply yesterday. Now I'm thinking my rush to judgement was a bit hasty.

The Eero system replaced my router and two wireless extenders. This is the report I sent my brother:

1. For generally setting up the net work it is truly unbelievable. I mean really. You will not believe it. Except for the aging Axis cam, I had the old out and the new completely set up in 15 minutes. I am not kidding. Zoey could have done it without waking up from her nap.

2. You need 2 pods to set up the network. Additional ones just give you more coverage. The sewing room instantly went from a spotty 2 MBPS to 35 and the instructions say that it takes 24 hours for the network to ramp up the speed.

3. Each pod has 2 ethernet ports. So one plugs into the router and you still have one left on that one but then you have 2 on each of the others before you even have to use a switch.

4. It's very pretty.

5. This laptop (wireless in the living room) is at 91 MBPS.

6. I'm declaring victory here. Pricey yes. Worth it? Fuck yeah!

Also easy to assign nicknames to connected devices list. Guest Access. Family Profiles. Also easy to open up a port and assign a specific IP address to a specific device.

I do wish there was web UI - it's all via phone app which is kind of annoying but I'll get over it.

Turns out the most difficult connection was the Echos! I finally dug out my old Fire tablet and only then was I able to change their wifi connection. Weird.

But I am very very very impressed with Eero.
