On Sunday mornings there is a drum team that practices outside the football stadium across the street. I have heard people in the building bitch about it and I'm sure the renters in the the apartments across the street (and closer to it) probably really bitch but I love it. I love the rhythms. And I love the routine. And today they are gone.

The Seahawks are playing in New Orleans right now (Sunday morning) and I guess the drummers are all somewhere watching it. It sure is weird to have a silent Sunday morning without even the drums.

I'm killing time til the new hamburger place opens at 11. Oh, I just remembered there's a library branch right on the way and I have library books to return. Cool.

I slept really well last night. I did not get up one time or as my tracker puts it 0 minutes awake. I thought I would be sore from that massive coughing attack last night but nope. Whew. I need to avoid those in the future, however.

My swim was good. My Plan B music player worked fine. I did not even look at what songs were on it so it was kind of fun to revisit old stuff. There's a street festival going on up a few blocks from the gym today that I didn't find out about until I got home. I probably would have done that instead of hamburger if I had known. Oh well.

After burger there may be some sewing. There will be TV watching and I suspect I'll have to watch what may be the last World Series game. A nice Sunday.

I track my fitness using an app called Misfit. Because millenials are in charge, the app, besides tracking, has a way for you to add 'friends'. A while back this random guy posted on Redit that he wanted Misfit friends. So I told him to add susandennis if he wanted. He did. Of the 16 friends on my Misfit list, he's the only one who sometimes - not often, but sometimes gets more points in a day than I do.

Yesterday we had a small but ohsowonderful little message exchange (I'm in green below)...

Hello susandennis!

I added you on the Misfit app and you are always beating me! (I'm MatthewJohn95 on there!). How the heck do you do it??? You're a beast, always above 1500 points! Ah! Tell me your secret!

-Cheers

OMG this cracks me up so much!! The secret is swimming. I swim 1.3 miles every day. It does wonders for my Misfit points.

I have seen you top me here and there and it just makes me swim faster. So thank you! Probably it would be mean to tell you that I'm 67 years old , so I won't. :)

Bah! That's amazing! I'm 21 and that just gives me some motivation to make sure I at the VERY LEAST hit my 1200 point goal everyday! No excuses. I literally talk about you to all my friends...I'm just so obsessed with trying to catch up! You're a wonderful motivation!

Ok so now you have totally made my day. Week, actually.

Sadly for you, my goal is to make sure you never top me again!!

I grew up before Title 9. I was taught that women should really not ever sweat. Plus, I'm naturally a lazy couch potato. I manged to avoid physical education class most of my life. In college we were required to take 2 semesters. For my two, I took bowling and golf. I am a lot of things but athletic is not even close to being one of them and I am 100 pounds overweight.

So this little exchange is even more than delightful and is being recorded here for posterity!

The entry is coming is being written with considerable help. I picked Zoey out after a multi-day, multi-shelter kitty shopping spree. She was really the only one who snuggled up to me so she got the nod. It was only after I brought her home that I learned that black cats are right up there with old sick cats in the Last To Be Adopted shelf. Tomorrow is a big day for black cats.

The hamburger place was not a fail but not a glorious success. They let me order it rare but then over cooked it. The nice lady asked me, after I had finished, it it was rare enough and I allowed as how it wasn't and she said "Oh, I'm sorry. Next time, tell us and we'll give it more time on the grill." Er, ah that's some kind of miracle cure right there... turn an overcooked burger into a rare one with more time on the grill... The fries were spectacular and the place was nice. I will go back but I'm still on the hunt for a great burger.

I got a chopped salad to go and had half for dinner tonight. I'll have the other half for lunch tomorrow. It was pretty decent.

Otherwise, I sat on my ass in front of the TV all damn day. I watched the movie Joy which was abotu what I expected - kinda like the burger, actually - not great, not horrible. It's been on my TiVo for a while.

I got one bear finished and one bear done. I'm happy with the bear production this month. Jeannie - the adoption lady - always wants more bears.

The camera on my new phone is really outstanding but, frankly, does not to anything better with these doll/bear photos. Of course, I don't get too precious with the setup. As soon as the cat moves off the spot, I set them up and shoot. That first one is actually a very bright green with a coral sweater. And, of course, the background is exactly the same in both. Oh well.
