My Chrome is lost it's mind. Yesterday I dug out an old chromebook that I'm thinking about connecting to one of my living room monitors but probably won't. But, it had been a year or more since I'd open it. So it needed charging and updating. I had all my chromes set to sync tabs with each other.

Some extension lost its mind. Every time I clicked on something 20 blank tabs would open. Then it happened on the bedroom chromebook and now on the Windows PC and now on the Pixel Chromebook.

So, yes, 1. I have way more computing machines that one person will ever need. 2. Their talking to each other is a successful enterprise. 3. The old game of telephone goes haywire a lot faster when chrome browsers play it together.

I have now turned off all extensions and tab syncing. I'm letting everyone take a time out and think about what they've done. Extensions will go back strictly on an as need basis and there will be no more tab syncing.

I dialed back on my early swim this morning. I didn't even leave here until 7:15. I got home after 9 but I did manage to avoid really bad traffic - both on the road and in the pool so win. I don't ever swim fast and today, particularly, was careful not to. A couple of times I felt a twinge that reminded me I had an elbow issue but really mostly it was fine while swimming and it's fine now. (And it did not wake me up last night.)

I spent so much this weekend on general stuff, I'm not at all tempted by cyber Monday deals. I was going to order more teddy bear yarn but I picked up some yesterday and I still have a small stash. So I think I'll just wait until it's gone and hope my yarn site has another free shipping deal. I did discover last night that my Etsy felt circle (doll eyes) vendor has suspended her shop for a while. I hit the panic button until I finally found another vendor to sell me the same thing. I wish I could figure out an easy way to make them myself.

EDIT an hour later: Well Herrschners sent me the email that pushed me over - 20% off entire order PLUS free shipping. OK goddmannit. I'll buy more yarn. I did limit myself to the minimum $35 and it is for a good cause and 3 or 4 other excuses but still.

Nothing much going on today. Sewing and a relatively short house todo list. Just a nice, quiet regular sized Monday. And I think I'll get it started now.

Ours was a not a rare vacation family. We took big vacations, just not often. Our first one didn't happen until I was 10. The plan was to drive to Florida (from North Carolina) and visit Miami and Ft. Lauderdale for Christmas and then go to Havana for New Years. Mother and Daddy planned this for a year. But as the time grew closer, Cuba's government got dicier. Fulgencio Batista's government was new and unstable. Fidel Castro was making noise.

Because of The Big Vacation, we watched and discussed it at dinner a lot. Until finally Daddy pulled the Havanna plug. He waited until he had Nassau in the bag before announcing it so I was fine... one small Caribbean Island was just like another to me back then. And that wasn't the draw anyway.

The big deal was the airplane. I would get to ride in an airplane for the first time ever. Oh what a BFD this was. In the early 50's riding on an airplane was a BFD for everyone actually. We wore our Sunday clothes. Our stewardesses (no flight attendants back then) were both nurses (I asked) although that requirement had been lifted. They were very pretty. The flight was VERY short but we got tablecloths on our tray tables and a Shirley Temple. It was amazing.

We spent 3 days in Nassau and I spent a lot of them looking forward to airplane ride #2 which did not disappoint.

I was kind of fascinated by all the Castro news this weekend. And by remembering that vacation. I'm so very grateful to have experienced all that and still be alive to experience all the amazing things that happen these days.

My arm and elbow have really felt ever so much better today. Around lunchtime I got a reply to my email to the doctor about physical therapy and he said he'd be happy to refer me but he wants to see me first which seems reasonable and he's always fun to see but, of course, it didn't hurt any more. Now, it's feeling a little sore again. So I just logged in and set up an appointment for Thursday morning. I love being able to email the doctor and set up an appointment without having to call. If I'm healed I'll know by Thursday and can cancel.

My next door neighbor knocked and asked to borrow some oil and then brought back the rest of the bottle along with a cake! Fair fucking trade, if you asked me. Chocolate cake with chocolate and salted caramel icing. No weed. In fact, he hasn't baked me any pot goodies in a long time. I'm glad he's not wasting the good stuff on me.

That button on this first doll is a button I got in a box of random buttons at the Goodwill. I loved it but it was way too big for dolls and the colors are so weird, I couldn't imagine they would ever work for a doll but I kept it and it's been bouncing around the sewing stuff for months now. Until today when it found a perfect spot. I love when that happens.
