Deliver Dolls
Get whipped cream cheese
Package up the LED undermount lights
Put away stuff on terrace
Do something with bears
Download library books

That's my todo list for today. I want to get all of that done before I do anything else today. The dolls can't be delivered until 10 but the rest I can do before then. After that, they cay is mine. Not even any baseball game to lose today. Yeah!

I've gone dark since it got warm. This condo has light from the outside on only one wall at the far end. So there's a whole other end that is pitch black on its own. I usually keep low vision LED lamps going in various corners so that I can maneuver around without having to turn on big lights if I want. A year or so ago, I installed LED strips under my cabinets in the kitchen and kept them always on.

But now I'm on a all lights off unless needed kick. Well most lights off unless needed anyway. I tore out all the undermounts and replaced them with two motion sensor sconces in the kitchen. I got a simple little LED lamp for the bedroom so I can avoid that overhead lamp. The idea is to cool things off but mainly it's psychological. Dark is cooler to me so if I keep it dark-ish, I trick myself into thinking it's maybe cooler than it is.

It feels very different anyway. The new kitchen counter tops get installed on the 12th. And then it will feel very different.

Also streamlined. Getting the dolls and monsters out of the living room will help. I hope the bears will be gone soon as well. The bear lady finally said she'd was ready to take them and told me to bring them Friday. Sorry... no can do on Friday. This will, I suspect, be the finally delivery to her which is fine especially now that I have a better (for me) place to take them.

My brother told me to watch Glow on Netflix. I had seen about it and decided it wasn't anything I was interested in. But, he often uncovers gems so I watched it last night. 2 episodes and I loved them. Now I need to parse out the rest for maximum enjoyment. I also have not seen the latest House of Cards. And several other streams o' stuff. Just not enough time.

Now I need to quit wasting time and get on that list.

Ooops

I hit a massive speed bump while working through my todo list. Every once in a while - far less often these days, thankfully - I hit a patch of something - dust, usually - and get attacked by my COPD. My lungs have a fit. I can't breathe for coughing. I can't get the dust or whatever out of my face/mouth/through/lungs. It hurts. My nose runs, I pee a little, I just gasp for air. I think today's thrill came from the dust out on the terrace where I had to rearrange things to get everything I wanted into storage.

I take my magic cough stopping pill, and suck down my inhaler and sip water continually and try to sit still and make it go away. I know from experience that it does. And it's already starting to now.

I spend most every day completely free from any sign that my lungs are shit. I breathe easily and, these days, make no concessions for things I want to do and can't. I can do whatever I want. And then I get attacked and remember. Ooops. Remember all those cigarettes you enjoyed??? I do and that's cool. I'm lucky it's not worse.

I did get everything done on my list though except for the errands. Still too early. So I think I'll just sit here and do a little internet surfing while I get my breath back.

I did snap a pick of all the 'kids' going to new homes today. They are now in bags ready go go.

The WestSide Baby location I went to today could not be more convenient. I opened the door and was greeted warmly by a group of women working together on something. I said 'I have a donation' and one said 'you can put them right there in that bin. Do you need help bringing in more?' Nope. 'Do you need a receipt?' Nope. 'Well, thank you very much for your donation!'

It was heaven. After all this time. About 5 years ago the baby bank I had been donating to for years moved locations into one that is not handy with no parking and now I had to make an appointment to drop off, get there, call, wait for her to come down... And, the last time I requested an appointment she said she wasn't ready and she'd let me know. Then she sent email last night telling me to come the one time when I cannot.

I'm very very grateful to have people who help me get my stuff into tiny hands but easier is so much better. And WestSide looks like the easiest ever and for long term. So YEAH!!

Also in that same little strip place was a city community service office that was open. I stopped in to see if I could get a replacement old people's card. The city issues these senior cards to old people. I get half off pet licenses and adoption fees, I get into the aquarium for free, I get into the zoo at a very reduced price and I get 2% off at my favorite small grocery market. So... it's a deal. When my purse was stolen last December, my old people's card was in it. I just never got a replacement. Today I did. Again, easy peasy.

Someone broke into a realtor's lock box next to the front door of this building and stole the key. The board and the interim manager are in massive crisis management. They called me in on it because I am the only one who knows the Front Door TV Network and why it no longer works. They asked me not to say anything until they had a plan they could announce. (So don't say anything, k?) We have had, on the plans, the installation of a key fob system but it keeps getting pushed back because of one crisis or another. Re-keying the building is expensive and a major pain in the ass. I have no clue what they are going to do.

On the up side, the chances of my getting the Front Door TV Network back are looking GOOD!

So now all my ToDos are done. I think I'll have a celebratory lunch.
