When I was little, in the 50's, time out hadn't been invented yet. When we misbehaved mostly we got spanked and sent to our rooms. I was spanked a few times, not often, but I was sent to my room a lot until, my Mom discovered that I loved quiet, uninterrupted time in my room. That just stymied her program all together.

I still love time in my room only now my room is a condo. If I had a lap pool in here, I'd never leave at all. Except maybe.

I haven't been anywhere since mid last week (except to the pool and home with the windows rolled up) because of the smoke mainly but also because of the heat. Today we are saying goodbye to both - not exactly a fond farewell, more like a don't let the door hit you in the ass kind of goodbye.

And, to be honest, I'm ready to bust outta this joint. And I think I'm going to give it a go today. There's a semi-new poke joint in the International District. I have to go past the good burger place AND the outstanding grill cheese counter plus the Uwajimaya poke bowls to get there. And it's supposed to be hot and by then (11ish?) the sun will be out but, heck, I think it's worth a shot. Also, I got a little indication this morning that maybe my inhaler experiment isn't as successful as I thought. I ran out of breath climbing the steps to the gym which rarely happens any more. I think I need a lung stress test.

And, besides, why not. I've been good. ish.

I'm coming across more and more things available only on Facebook. I bought a pattern and there was one tricky bit so I went to the website to find an explanation and I did, they kindly provide a short video to show how to do it... on Facebook. And, no, not available if you don't have a Facebook account. Restaurants who provide their opening times and menus on Facebook pages - again not public. Information and pictures only available with a Facebook account.

Fuck it. While I would love to see the stuff and hate the 'You must sign in to view' page, there is nothing that is that important enough to me. I may well be cutting off my nose to spite my face but so far it's worth it.

And just this morning I read an article about how I'm not using Instagram correctly. It took a while to noodle it out but, apparently, THE only point in Instagram is to collect hearts and followers. What about if I just wanna post the pictures of what I want to post about and I don't care who hearts or follows? Sounds like that's not allowed. The Instagram police will be on my ass. No worries. My ass is large, plenty of room. Hop on.

Ok, I think I'll go sew up the swim suit while I wait for lunch time.

I am so counting on tomorrow bringing an end to this heat. I did venture out and while it still looks smokey out, the bad air did not really bother me at all. My lungs were not all all unhappy. So... YEAH! However, the heat was a bitch. Also the not walking recently didn't help. I did not make it to the new poke place. I got close, saw the line, and went to Plan B.

I did see that one of my favorite restaurants up there - I cannot even remember the name of it - has gone. It's one that was so Chinese, it was not unusual for me to be the only Caucasian person in the joint. Half the time I had no clue what I was eating. But always it was delicious. Now it's a new place that does not look as interesting. Good to know, though, I would have been crushed had I planned on dinner there and discovered the switch then.

I got to Daiso for the sponges that I wanted and picked up a couple of other things. Then onto Uwajimaya for their pokey bowl (for dinner) and then I decided to try one of the CMB grilled cheese sandwiches. They just opened a week or so ago. They were slow and not rude but not friendly. I got my sandwich and came home. It was 15 minutes between sandwich getting and sandwich eating and by that time it was still warm but the cheese had settled down and it was scrumptiously delicious. I mean really.

And I have dinner all ready to eat.

I also finished up the kitchen reorg today and I like it a lot. I can see what I have and easily get and put back all my dishes and utensils. It feels just nice.

And I started on the bedroom closet. I have one closet of shelves where most of the clothes I wear every day live. They are folded and stacked. I am going through every single stack and refolding (this time very neatly) and sorting and taking inventory and culling. I'm hoping that very soon, all my tidily folded short sleeve shirts can go on the top shelves until next Summer and the long sleeved shirts will be moved into play.

Baseball game tonight on TV at 7.
