Beached

It is beyond odd to wake up and not go swimming. I feel like I'm at 6s and 7s.

Ok, now, that was a fine rabbit hole. I went to Wikipedia to look up where that term came from and I got a giant 'please donate' screen. I've done this in the past, donated to Wikipedia. They don't ask often and they never nab me and they let me use my Amazon card which gives me mega cash back so, ok, I'll donate. So I did and then after that totally forgot what I went to Wikipedia for.

Then I got a text that my Amazon order had been delivered to I went down to pick it up. It's my ear protection. Two options. Then I had to get out my goggles/Flash player to test out both options and, of course, take pictures.

Both are kind of annoying BUT either one, I think, will work fine. So... Back to the pool tomorrow!! My ear actually no longer hurts. On and off, however, it itches like a motherfucker. And it's a little blocked up. So there's a chance I may hold off one more day, depending but at least now I have options.

Then I had to check all my tabs to see what in the hell I was doing when I went to Wikipedia and finally got to the LJ entry tab and VOILA! The entry for 6s and 7s is one of the muddiest Wikipedia entries I've ever seen. I want some of my money back now.

I'm waiting now for Sandy (HOA president). She needs my help to set up the subscriptions for the three Nest cams. We've been riding on the free trial but it runs out on Friday. She could probably figure it out herself but wants my advice and has questions about other options. She asked to get together Wednesday morning and I told her to come on down whenever. I really need to not do that. Setting a time is way better but in the moment it seems imposing. Oh well. It's not like I have mega plans.

I am considering a Goodwill Store tour. We have 3 in north Seattle that I've never been to. And one is near Five Guys. It depends on when she gets here and how long it takes and what I feel like doing after...

I hate this question. Because I have no good answer for any of it really. But, in for a dime...

The color I go to most often is a lime yellowish green. I'm kind of partial to most greens actually. When I was little, it was blue all the way. No clue why.

My favorite place is my house. I love it in here. I love the color (see answer to first question) and the convenience. It feels safe and invigorating and comfy. And the company is always delightful.

My favorite read of the last few years is an odd little novel called Heft written by Liz Moore. I have not re-read it but I should. It was just a delightful story.

I honestly really, I promise, have no favorite song. I am not a music person. Personal record players came into fashion when I was a teenager. Stereos were fancy and expensive and for grownups who really liked music. Record players were quite cool. The best kind was the kind that only played stacks of 45's. Albums cost big bucks and only had one singer. 45's were mostly under a $1 so you could buy a stack of all different singers and songs.

I can probably recite the lyrics to most any tune that was popular from about 1955 to about 1971. And then I graduated from college and NPR was on the radio and for years about my only exposure to music was pretty much Muzac when I was in a store. Even today the only music I really listen to is that stuff on my Shuffle when I swim. I rarely turn on the radio in the car at all. And never at home. So no favorite song.

Favorite movie. Again, not my milieu. There are a lot of movie types I do not like and precious few I do. I see fewer and fewer these days. I've given up on movie theater movies and don't really have the patience watching them at home much. One movie that I did see in the theater that had a huge impact on me was a Jennifer Anniston film - decidedly NOT rom com called Cake.

Sandy finally came and we got everything squared away and now have history going for all the Nest Cams which is good. We were done about 11:30 and I decided to go on my Goodwill run.

I totally forgot to empty the Goodwill hamper to take with me. Doh. Guess I'll have to go again sometime.

The Ballard store is just enough different and just enough same (as my usual Goodwill) to make the trip worthwhile. Today was a total score. 6 sheets!! 5 knitted - lots of nice t-shirts and other comfy things - and one really nice denim sheet. I've never seen a denim sheet but this yardage in fabric store denim like this would be $50/60! I'm not sure what I'm going to make out of it - jacket? vest? who knows. It's nice stuff. The whole lot was $22.

With that victory under my belt, I canned the other Goodwill stores. I'll do them another day. I did head, however, right to 5 Guys and had a great lunch. I love that place. Always great food, nice people, clean store. Yum. Then I made a quick stop at the grocery on the way home and got sushi for dinner.

Sandy had suggested we move one of the Nest Cams so when I got home, I got onto that project and she came along when I was in mid-move so we did it together and found a better spot.

Then I came back up here and cut the sheets to make them all flat before I run them through the washer. Three of the sheets were fitted so I had to unfit them.

I ordered some cat food from Amazon - cheapo dry kibbles. I added it to my order to make the total enough to qualify for one day shipping. Problem is that I ended up ordering the GIANT bag. I'm not even sure where I'm going to store it. But we now have nearly a lifetime supply of dry kibble. (And it really was cheap!)

Baseball starts in just a little bit and my reminder just went off saying it's ear drop time.
