This new-ish-still pool has a strange population density. Thursdays are the most crowded. Then Tuesdays. Then weekends. Then Mondays. Then Fridays. Wednesdays feel like there was a memo and I missed it. For the first 45 minutes it was just me and the old slow guy. It was weird. I swam hard. So hard that just before the hour mark, my arm and shoulder were killing me so I quit. They still feel like I beat them up nearly 3 hours later. I need to be careful.

There needs to be a walk today. The fish and chips truck is going to be at the park today so I'm thinking that's my destination...

[livejournal.com profile] bill_schubert turned me on to this kid's newsletter. Wake Up To Politics I'm late to the game. He's been doing this for years and he's still in high school! It's really interesting and palatable and refreshingly even handed. And really interesting.

The good news is that my new phone is scheduled for delivery today!! The bad news is that it's coming via OnTrac which means it may or may not get here today or tomorrow or some other day. And, if it does get here today, the email from OnTrac saying it has been delivered will arrive 2 hours after the delivery. Luckily, I did just get a package delivered by them on Monday and I know it arrived at 3:30 so I'm guessing that's when I need to be on the lookout.

Yesterday I got a pocket idea for the new pants that I wanted to try but wasn't sure it would work. I had a length of black knit and a length of gray - neither of which were big enough for pants. But... plenty big enough for half a pair. So, I put two halves together. The idea kind of worked well so today I'm two toned legged.

I found some nicely priced black jersey on Amazon. It should arrive today. If it works out, I'll order up a shit load and make a bunch o' these pants.

I think today's top job is going to be my Big Drawer Of Crap. I have a big drawer in a cupboard in the living room. It is full of stuff that I'm too lazy to put away. Papers and other stuff. I need to empty it out and put stuff where it belongs. I will do that before lunch today.

Actually, I'm going to do it now.

Done!

Done!! And wow. Did I find some shit. Like 5 years of tax returns.

In the olden days when everything was paper, I'd stash everything in a bin and then, once a month, I'd sort and file it all. Now, I need to hang on to only the most minimal of papers so sorting and filing gets done, apparently, only every 5 years.

Also, I found all the paperwork, including instructions and the serial number of my bed. This serial number is what the woman on the phone last weekend insisted, at first, that I had to have before I could even think about a fix. Also the instructions for reprogramming were a little more complicated than what she sent. It think I will be spending $70 for that.

And, I found my tax assessment docs for the past 5 years. I bought the place in 1992. So here's the first year and this year. Wild. (Don't anyone lose their privacy shit over this... it is information available at the King County website for anyone to see.)

Also, in studying the Ontrac website, I'm pretty sure there will be no phone today. But, probably tomorrow. I'm chill.

BUGS! Ugh.

I'm sick of my food. The dinner options I had in house all failed to peak my interest. But, I have fresh cold milk and nice, crisp cereal. WTF not?

I pulled down the big canister of cherios. LOADED with bugs. I mean there was a bug for every o. It was horrible. I had a smaller canister of misc cereal - a little frosted fakes, a little wheat checks, a few raisin bran. You know, the remains. BUGS. Not as many - I guess they didn't like the flavors. I ground them all up in the disposal. Left was oatmeal. I have a big box and some individual packets. I went for the packets. No bugs and pretty tasty. Now I've got to ho back into the kitchen and check the big oatmeal.

This condo has been pretty bug free for all of the 25 years I've lived here. I quit burning real wood in the fireplace years ago when I found some bugs that came in with the split logs. I had an ant invasion in a couple of spots about a decade ago. And that's been it. Until today.

I'm going to just believe it's a one off because the cereal was really old. New rule. Cereal in house, eat it. If not hungry for cereal, don't buy it. I do not heart bugs one single bit.

The fabric for pants arrived and it's perfect. I'm quite delighted because it's easy to find and there are several sources and it's not terribly expensive but has a really nice feel. It's 100% cotton knit. So. Yeah. Let the pants production begin!

We are having quite the wind storm. Sadly the leaves on The Tree That I Hate are all still green and not close to falling off. I miss my neighbors and can't wait til that view blocking tree is bare again and I can see what's going on.
