We have fog and smoke this morning. Fortunately, we have more of the former. Weird.

Inside here we're still rated as 'good' which is very good because it is too warm out to close the door to the outside. If the smoke gets bad, I can wear my N95 all day, drag out the air conditioner again, go rent a hotel room... I like exactly none of those plans. So I'm going with hope that the smoke does not get bad.

I am off to Costco this morning. It is the first day of the monthly sales so it will be packed. I will go during the old people's hour but I don't expect that to make much difference today. I'll just go and walk around and get my stuff and not worry about it. It's pretty much a killing time exercise anyway. The housecleaner says she'll get here at 9 and she'll actually get here at 10. She'll be done by 11:30. So probably I'll also go to Goodwill. And maybe Uwajimaya. And maybe Daiso.

Or sit in the car and read. It does not matter one bit.

The cable guy is coming this afternoon to fix my Encore channels.

Google is announcing a bunch of new stuff today. I might get their TV dongle but I might not. The rest of the stuff does not really interest me.

Biggie spent all day into the night in his tree. Usually he spends his afternoons napping in other parts of the house. And sometimes his evenings, too. But, even in the dark, there he was outside. On duty. I'm so glad I thought to move that damn tree out there.

Tomorrow is October and that's fine with me.

I registered to vote the minute I was eligible, which, back in my day, was age 21. I have skipped a couple of elections for whatever reason but have voted in 99% of the rest. So. You can stop telling me to register. You can stop telling me to vote. My ballot will be here in two weeks. I will return it the day I get it. (Washington State has been doing mail in ballots for years.) I promise.

I almost just spam reported a text because I thought it was from another 'register to vote or be sure and vote' text but, no, it was from a potential parking spot!

My parking spot is down a flight of stairs. It's a nice, big spot but the up and down stairs is a pain when you are carrying stuff. I have a cart and that cart even does stairs but still a pain.

Yesterday there was a notice on the bulletin board from some new people saying their car was too big for their space 'so we have no place to park!'... They are renters. Would you rent an apartment, knowing you needed to park without checking the parking spot???? And, then play the victim when you discovered your blunder????

But, anyway. Their space is street level and they wanted to trade for another street level. Ha. Like that's going to happen. I sent them a note saying I was willing to trade and, told them which space was mine. The text was to say they were going to check out my space after work.

It would be very handy to skip those steps!

Turns out they are in the lower level as well. And can't, apparently, write up a bulletin board notice clearly. I withdrew my offer to swap. geesh.

I went a baskillion places today and spent money. And then I finally got Christian's invoice. And I did buy the Google TV thing but only because with the Netflix deal they threw in, it only cost about $12.

And now I'm home and waiting for the cable guy - doesn't that sound like a cliche.

I went to Costco. It was not packed at all! And I could not find what I wanted so I got a picture of it on my phone with intentions of walking around trying to find a Costco person to help me which is always a hike. Except when I looked up from my phone there was this cute Costco guy standing in front of me asking "can I help you find something?" Bizaro World!

I remembered everything except ATM but later.

Then I went to Home Depot to see if I could find the new Google TV dongle. Lots of places reported that they had it for sale over the weekend. Not here, apparently.

Then to Goodwill. Ordinarily, I wouldn't go near the place this close to Halloween but today it was fine as in not at all crowded and it was fun to see all the costumes they had for sale.

Then I popped into Daiso where they are still out of Biggie's red collars. And then into Uwajimaya where I picked up a poke bowl for lunch.

Then I remembered the damn ATM. But, I looked up and discovered there's one that my bank likes just around the corner from Uwajimaya. Easy to get to, nice ATM with easy parking. SCORE! Got all the cash I'll need until December. (Housecleaner takes cash.)

I am done spending money. I have spent enough in the past two weeks. I need to haul it in so SNAP.

By the time I got home I was whipped. But omg the house is clean. Nearly ever time now, on her day, I get pissed. She's supposed to be here by 10. She often asks if she can come at 9. I tell her SURE! She never gets there til 10 and sometimes, like today it was 10:04 which just annoys me and I think, I don't need her. I've got the robovac and I can clean the other stuff. If I could think of a kind way to fire her I would.

But, also every time, I get home and all the nooks and crannies just shine. The bathroom sparkles. The kitchen is just clean. And I'm so grateful to have her come clean.

The cable man has been here now and fixed and left. All he did was call a guy and read off numbers. I think I could have handled that. But, in fairness, the problem could have been something else i could not have fixed so fine.

And now everything is settled. And dusted and clean and fixed and fine. And I am exhausted.

The air is "Fair" inside and "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" outside with the forecast calling for more of the same. Ugh. At least tomorrow is a Stay At Home Day.
