Cold snap!

Today's high is 74 degrees. Normally, that's getting too close to too hot for me. But, this is NOT normally. I am thrilled with 74 degrees.

Even though there is a baseball game in an hour, I think I'm going to run a few errands.

The game yesterday was on Youtube which was annoying enough but they had a little gaggle of idiots assembled to talk through the entire game and I mean talk. They did not shut up. NONE of them had anything interesting to say and, for all I could tell, they were not even watching the game. I was able to mute them and listen to the radio broadcast of the game via the Mariners website.

I seriously do not get jocks in cheap suits standing in a circle, maybe with a bat, saying stupid stuff. This group had a token female who had nothing to contribute and they finally sat down. But, really, I do not get the appeal. They are trying to attract fans by ignoring the game? Sounds like a plan to me.

Give me a play by play guy (or gal) who is watching and following the game - play by play - and maybe a color commentator. And if it's on TV, you can actually shutthefuck up for a lot of the game. GRRRRRRR

But, today will be back to regular whew. I'll listen to the game on the car radio and watch the replay of anything that needs it when I get home. Like godintended.

Biggie was all over me this morning. Clearly he wanted more treats but also something else but I don't know what. I petted him and stroked him. I tried the laser, not interested. I tried Stickie, not interested. I paid attention closely in hopes of thwarting off another bite but he didn't try. Then he went out on the terrace and has been there for the past hour. Weird cat.

I have considered getting him a cat to play with. But, I'm not sure I want the care and maintenance of two animals. What if it doesn't work and they hate each other? Then what do I do? I brought Biggie and The Smalls home two years ago Monday. I was told that neither would likely live too long. Maybe a year, maybe a little more. I do miss The Smalls but even as Mr. Bitey, I'm grateful for Biggie.

Time to get a shower, get dressed and see the outside world again for a little bit anyway.

It's been a fair number of days since I left this building. Turns out everyone seems to have carried on fine without me.

The license place was packed. They sell the date stickers and actual plates plus permits for disabled parking, etc. And everyone showed up today. Even the woman who ran the joint noted that they were busier today than they had been in a year. Masks were required and worn by everyone and they were tightly controlling the number of people inside. But, they did have a number service and it's not like I had a long list of other things to do, so I got my number, took a chair and fired up MLB on my phone to watch the Mariners take an early lead.

I not only got my date sticker but I put it on the car! I am now good to go until August 2022.

Traffic was busy. Most people on the street were still wear in masks. I stopped by the new (to me) teriyaki place that I tried once and needed another time to judge fairly. The mean guy was gone and replaced by a nice older lady. They were not open for dining and still serving through a weird window. But, this time they did not fuck up my order and it was delicious. And I have enough left for dinner. I guess it's my new favorite teriyaki place.

Coming home there was even more traffic and police had some roads blocked off entirely. I scrapped the plan to stop by Krispy Kreme because I didn't know what was going on or why.

Turns out it was a massive parade of law enforcement officers in cars, on bikes and on motorcycles to the baseball park where they are holding a memorial for a police officer who was killed a week or so ago when she, off duty, stopped to help some car wreck victims. She was, apparently, one of the really really good ones.

Biggie met me at the door when I got home which he has not done in weeks. He was then all over me, again, acting as if he wanted to dig his teeth in but did not. Now he's sleeping out on the terrace floor.

The first of two loads of laundry is in, Robby vacuuming the back half of the house and the Mariners are in the 8th inning with a fairly solid lead. Oh and it's still not horribly hot. Life is good.
