1st off bird count. So far, 0. Although Biggie is out there now so Birds, Beware!

The baseball game last night was outstanding and we also won. Here's hoping for a ditto tonight since I'll be there.

My brother arrives tomorrow!!! Between restaurants still pandemic closed and restaurants that don't open on Mondays or Tuesdays, I've been working on a list of breakfast and late lunch/early dinner ops for the first part of the visit. I think I have a great list. Later in the week the pickins get easier and I have another list for that.

Besides the fact that I don't cook anyway, I use his visits to try out restaurants and revisit old ones. He doesn't seem to mind so it works out nicely.

Today, though, there won't be much eating. I need to save myself for tonight's baseball buffet.

I do have a list of stuff that I'd like to get done today and no reason why it can't happen.

Oh sweet!! I just got an email about what is coming in the mail today and it's my annual assessment card from the county. Every year they evaluate how much they think my condo is worth and then slap taxes on that amount - lots 'o taxes. Generally, it goes up every year- some years more than others. But this year, it went down!!



And so this means my taxes will be lower this year. NO complaints from me. The tax bill last time was $5549.01. I'm happy to pay less next time.

The half bath/guest toilet has one of those old florescent screw bulbs in the ceiling. When you flip the wall switch the light comes on but dimly and it takes a while to get to full bloom. A while back I switched all my other ceiling lights to LEDs but this one got forgotten. I looked in the rarely visited cupboard where I keep bulbs and found one! But, I'm no longer excited about climbing up on ladders unless it's necessary. It's not. bill_schubert, the ladder is in there for you and the bulb is in the sink. Enjoy.

But, then back to that bulb cache. Holy shit. I had an entire shelf of a cabinet full of bulbs that I no longer have lamps for. Plus, nearly all of my bulbs are LED and will need replacing again long after I'm dead. I saved a very few that I do have lamps for, and pitched the rest. No one needs 60 watt incandescent bulbs.

The rest of the shit in that cupboard was just junk.

Out on the terrace, I had a gynormous box of papers that was too heavy for me to bring in. I emptied out the stuff in it in stacks, went through it all, and tossed most - nope, do not need receipt for the washer and dryer that my current washer/dryer replaced. And put the rest into bins and into that cupboard. An I have one whole cupboard shelf that is EMPTY!!!

Then I took two cart loads of trash down to the dumpster.

And, while I was gone, Biggie got his Bird du Jour. Hilariously, since I was not sitting in my usual spot, he took it to his usual place but then picked up what was left and brought it to me in the hall. ick. But thanks?

I've done two loads of laundry and charged up my scooter. I need to fold the laundry and pick out the Mariners shirt to wear tonight.

But, I do feel massively accomplished.
