Damn, he almost made it

A silver alert is an amber alert but for old people. Every time I see one, I think another of my peops has made a break for FREEEEEEEDOM!!!!

But, sadly, few make it far. Like Jim here. He tried. But was foiled.




I hope he gets another chance before they take his keys.

Biggie got his first bird today before I even got my coffee. And, speaking of which, I screwed up my Subscribe and Save and just realized I don't have enough coffee to make it to the next one. This is a disaster!!

oh well.

I know I said I'd given up on convincing Biggie to eat wet food but I lied. His latest trick is that he won't touch it until I put a couple of Temptations treats (which normally, he will do anything for) on top. Then he eats all of the wet food and leaves the treats. Is there any better example of cat logic??

It's cloudy and not hot out this morning and not even a little smokey so I've no no excuse not to go out. So errands it is.

Oh goodie. One of the SusanDennis' has signed up for Sirus XM.

That should make for a fun inbox day.

win/loss/??

Today's errands came about mostly as a way to get off the couch if only for a little bit. I thought I'd go to the outoftheway Whole Foods and register my palm* and then pop into the Petco next door and get some Friskies for Biggie to try.

*The closeby-ish Amazon Fresh store is FINALLY going to open next week and I want to pay with my palm. Plus get the $10 that Amazon's offering for setting up your palm as payment.

So... several things.

1. Getting there was shockingly easy. Even going through the tourist areas which this time of year I avoid... The tourists were there but not in the way. Coolio.

2. Petco no longer has Friskies. Fuck. I got a sample of other pate things for him to try and did find a very cool catfood can lid.

3. Setting up my palms - I did both because why not - was way easier than finding the machine which for some reason they had hidden among the orchids.

4. I decided to pick up some orange juice and lunch. I grabbed some 'organic' from the produce section. I generally steer clear from anything labeled organic. To me it means this-will-rot-tomorrow and a higher price for less. But, I grabbed the juice anyway. And found a sandwich that looked ok.

5. I really dislike Whole Foods but today THREE people asked me, very kindly if they could help me find whatever it was I was obviously looking for and then stuck around to make sure I did.

6. The sandwich I got turned out to be delicious. And the organic orange juice tastes like it was squeezed from oranges this morning.

When I got home, Biggie had part of a bird left in the living room. UGH. He was really pissed when I took it away from him.

I opened up a can of the new cat food and he dug right in!! What?? So I went to look up the details on this magic and fuck. It's a Petco house brand. I do not want Biggie in love with food I have to buy at Petco. I don't mind once in a while but I want the local pet food store to be the supplier not Petco. Sheesh. My bad.

I ordered him some new feathers from Amazon and a couple of el chepo feather toys. This one was $5 and it freaked him out at first because it tweeted at him when he bit it! Cracked me up.

Then I loaded up his 'wand' with one of the new feathers. I waved it around for a while and then set it on the couch and he's been circling it now for 5 minutes. He's trying to figure out what the hell kind of bird this is!!

And, finally, he rested...
