Elbow Room

I got on the right bus this morning. There was a Rapid Ride in front of mine but it said 120 on the destination info so I knew it was a faux Rapid Ride. Got into the pool and in about four laps my right elbow started to hurt. Four more laps and still hurting. So I stopped. I did about 20 minutes of water walking/jogging/jumping. It's been a long time since I took a water aerobics class - I've forgotten the moves! But, the elbow thing feels like tennis elbow and I knew that it needed ice and rest and more swimming would just piss it off.

So I got out and came home and iced it down and now it actually does feel better. I'll keep icing and baby it and, hopefully, by Monday it will be up for swimming again. I sure hope it's ok doing some crochet. I'm kind of falling behind on my projects and cannot afford time off.

Today was the first day of walking to and from the bus stop in a short sleeved t-shirt only. I was very comfortable. But it's not comfortable in here (living room). Hot and humid so the air conditioner is on. I've got all the blinds lowered except 1. Biggie spends a whole lot of the day watching the terrace and beyond. I can't bare to cut him off.

Nothing big in the plans for today. More survey filling out and tonight baseball. I have a ticket to tomorrow night's game - Boston - yummy! But, listed it for sale because Boston. So, I'll either get $600 for the sale OR I'll go to the game. Neither seems to be a losing proposition.

Biggie's food of choice is getting scarce again. It's a temporary situation and I have a stock pile but it makes me twitchy.

I am in a pissy mood today for no good reason. I do not have to deal with anyone today and I'll get over it. Some days are just like that.

I'm thinking about maybe giving up swimming or cutting back. Honestly, if Ken Jennings was back on Jeopardy, I'd fire up the treadmill and do that 5 days a week and swim 2. I might see if I can stand Bialik and try it anyway. Maybe.

I did not know that ramen expired but I'm here to tell you that after a few years in the cupboard, it tastes like a musty closet smells. If I die from old ramen, please change it to something more glamorous when you retell.

But, I did create a fab meal. I get steaks from Costco. New York steaks.

They are pricey - especially now. But, they are really good. I cut them in half so $40 is 8 meals. BUT, yesterday I thawed one of those halves and cut it into bite sized pieces. I made a marinade of soy sauce, fish sauce, rice wine vinegar, sugar, garlic and ginger and I soaked the meat bits in that. I took them out and seared them in some sesame oil and added some onion (cut in 8ths). Then added the marinade to the pan and cooked a bit more. Then I split it into two servings. One yesterday and one today. Add in some snow peas or green beans or something else crunchy and rice or noodles (I do NOT recommend aged ramen). YUM.I mean really. Now $40 will make be 16 meals!!

Mostly I do not like big houses/spaces. When I troll for real estate porn, I usually just blow past McMansions. But this one has too many good things to blow past. That booth in the kitchen island... the curly slide... the elevator. I'm not even sure I'd mind living in Madison.

I decided I wanted to see Boston after all so I took my ticket off of StubHub. I need to plug in my scooter.

Plan

I reswizzled the bedroom and set up the treadmill and got it all ready to use. When I wake up in the morning, I will decide - every day. One or the other. Treadmill or pool*. This plan makes me less feel less pissy. Makes no sense but that's the way it is.

*Assuming my elbow heals. It does not seem unhappy with crocheting (whew).
