A very different day and it's not yet 9 am!

At 3 am I woke up and needed to pee. I had been sleeping on my back, legs straight out, head on pillow. When I got up, I discovered that my back was broken. At least it felt that way. OMG it was horrible. I made it to the bathroom, peed and downed some ibuprophen. I got back in bed and curled up in a ball which made the back feel better and went back to sleep.

This morning I woke up with Biggie snuggled up to my backside. I lay there waking up and wondering how much my back was going to hurt when I moved and what I was going to do about it. Then Biggie landed on the bed and put his face into mine. But, wait, if Biggie was nose to nose, who was back to back? Julio! That little munchkin. This made me laugh which didn't hurt. I was encouraged.

I got out of bed and all was fine. Actually better than fine. I fed the cats as usual and discovered that it was far easier to breathe than it has been recently. Generally, I'm panting and coughing first thing in the morning but not today! Weird and Wild.

I got into my suit and off to the gym. The gym is street level but the parking is underground. They have an elevator up to the gym from the parking. The first thing I noticed when I pulled into the parking was that there were way more empty spaces than usual. And then I heard the fire alarm. I parked and decided to give them 10 minutes. In 9 minutes the alarm stopped but then I noticed the fucking elevators were both out. There is no good way to get out of there by foot and precious little street parking. I was half way home mentally when I found a spot. Honestly if it was a usual breathing day, I'd have just come on home but why waste good lung power??

I did have an excellent swim and the front desk person said that the elevator fix it peps were supposed to come today. Fingers crossed.

I got a nice reply back from the appliance guy last night. It was thoughtful and detailed. And he was very graceful about giving me my money back if I found a sooner deal.

So then I got serious about online price shopping. I bought it when it was on sale and it's not on sale now so there's that. Costco has it for a great price but when I put it in my cart, the delivery date jumped from 9/1 to 9/15. And no pedestal.

I don't trust Lowe's or Best Buy enough to spend that kind of money with them. So now we're at Home Depot whose price is way more than I paid BUT they appear to have a pedestal with a drawer - way better and they say I can get it this weekend. So I have to figure out how much more I'm willing to spend. I'm going to go over there today and just chat with them and see.

My brother has now gotten both of my nephews onto Signal and it's now our family intercom. I thought it was going to be a massive PIA to switch and to have it really only on my phone (I have an app on the chromebook but it's not that handy) and I was wrong on both counts. When I hear the little Signal tone, it just makes me smile.

No baseball today. I have three Press Club games coming up - Friday, Sunday and Tuesday so really it does not pay to do a grocery run. I have stuff in the freezer that will work fine and I can get stuff delivered if not. After Tuesday they go on another long road trip - so long stretch of no fabulous baseball buffets. Sigh.

Last night the Home Depost site said that the machine and pedestal could be delivered Saturday but would cost me $700 more than what I paid the local place. BUT also, the site said that I could buy a pedestal with a drawer which is what I really wanted. I had questions and also the site had issues with my zip code so I couldn't buy it from there anyway. I decided if I had to, I would pay $500 over if I could get it next week.

I went to the store and found Darren who was efficient and sharp. He tried one weather comment and when I didn't bite, he was all biz. Props, Darren. He looked up to confirm the pedestal with the drawer was no bueno for my machine.

BUT the machine itself went on sale today! So the machine and the pedestal delivered and installed and my old machine taken away with taxes and whatever else comes to $250 over what I paid the other place. And they could bring it Tuesday.

Darren had a sale.

I did pick Wednesday because I have the Mariner game on Tuesday and I couldn't get a guarantee of a morning delivery. So. Wednesday. New Machine.

Darren said that this year, they have missed two appointments - one was a truck issue and one was an injured installer but otherwise they are there when they say they are.

Now it's time to send an email to the oh so nice Appliance guy and tell him no thank you.
