For several different reasons I decided to skip the swim today. So I'm having a slow morning with coffee. Before Frank gets here for the game, I want to shower and get dressed and pick up the living room and make sure my game bag is ready and then clean up both bathrooms.

I keep doing something to my back while I sleep. My mattress is fine and comfortable but somehow I manage to mangle my back anyway. This morning I went to get some ibuprofen and instead of leaning over the drawer because my back hurt to learn, I bent my knees and one of my knees screamed. Old, fat, out of shape... it's the trifecta of hurty. I think the moving around the house and the ibuprofen will heal it today. Tomorrow needs to look out for itself.

Yesterday afternoon I decided I still wanted fried chicken. The closest Popeye's is not close but every once in a while I check to see if they will deliver and yesterday was a YES!! So I ordered up. The good news was I got a very good Door Dash driver. The bad news was, he ended up here right as 40,000 people left the baseball game and 70,000 people arrived for the Ed Sheeran concert. Poor guy but he was a rock star himself and I got my chicken. And it was AMAZING!!! Totally worth the price and the extra large tip.

Really it was victory chicken. The Mariners were a scoring machine yesterday and beat Kansas City 15-2. It was lovely. We play them again today and I'd love to see more carnage. But this time I need the Rangers and the Astros to both lose - sorry Texas, not sorry.

Now I need to get up and move and get my back and me game ready!

The best

I'm not sure I'll ever get over the luxury of just doing what I want when I want to do it. I got back from swimming about 8:30 and made breakfast and have been sitting here the hour sense just internetting and enjoying my coffee and the fact that I could really do this all day if I wanted. I'm a very grateful camper.

Yesterday Frank arrived and we went off to the buffet and game. The Texas game had just stated and Texas (the one we wanted to lose) took an early 5-0 lead. The weather was perfection. You could see a little smoke in the distance and the numbers were eh but it didn't smell or seem smokey.

Pretty soon the game adopted the Texas game when Minnesota picked up 4 runs. We were watching that game on the phone and the real game on the field. And both games were wild. The Texas game tied it up and took it to extra innings and tide it again. The Mariners were in a 3-2 race to the finish. Many of our seat neighbors were also watching both games which was also fun. Finally Texas lost in the bottom of the 13th when their pitcher walked the winning run in. And we won our game.

So now the Mariners - at least for now - own the Division which is pretty fucking amazing.

Tonight we play Oakland. I'll watch it on tv but have a ticket to tomorrow's game.

In non Mariner news... I fucked up my back again last night while I was sleeping. Swimming actually didn't help it but it didn't hurt it either. I spent a long time googling this situation this morning and have some ideas of things to try.

I would be doing laundry but I'm saving all my dirty clothes for Wednesday.

I think today would be a good day for Goodwill. I have several things on my shopping list and I could use the steps.

A not at all new yarn shop semi nearby but just not convenient in several ways, is moving to way more convenient (their hours still to not mesh with mine but that's probably $$ saving on my part). I have a sweeter pattern that I want to make and, while I have a lot of yarn in this house, of course, I do not have the right yarn. I want to buy the yarn at the newly moved yarn shop to show my support but they won't be open til next week. So... sweater plans on hold. I'm still making hats and scarves to donate so it's not like my hands are idle ;)

I got my monthly subscribe and save delivery today. Just in time, too. Lovely when new toilet paper arrives the day you start the last roll. I do need to put it all away and clean up breakfast and get dressed.

Last night I was looking around the room trying to find Julio when I spied this. Julio, I forgive all the shit you knock over, all the pictures you make crooked, all the mess you make everywhere.
