Biggie has apparently taken on a new assignment as morning lap cat. He's trying out different lap angles but, clearly, he's committed to the role.

Three weeks from today is packing day. Three weeks is about three too many in my book but whatever. Bret, the realtor, is bringing his painter by today at 1. Baby steps are better than no steps at all.

The refund from the baseball playoff tickets is pending on my credit card. It will likely hit tomorrow and I'll have to call and get them to dent me a check which will take a week. But, hey, small price to pay for $2,500!

And, speaking of cold hard cash, Venmo finally came through. I got a weird note last night saying they were waiting for action from me but leaving out the details about what kind of action. I wrote back asking what they wanted me to do. This morning, I got another email saying they had refunded the money to Cynthia. Whew. Nice to have that in my rear view.

About mid-September, one of the stalwarts of my reading page - [personal profile] somedayseattle - disappeared. He had spent a few entries talking about getting treated for what sounded like a UTI. And then nothing. At first I was just worried. He was good about updating his journal daily and then nothing. Then, I just figured the worst and hoped that somehow maybe I would learn the details.

BUT!! This morning, on Instagram, I found out that he was in the hospital for two weeks and has been in bed recovering since but is alive and better - WHEW.

Losing journal friends to death really sucks. I wasn't ready to do it again.

My sweater project took a turn. I love the pattern but I hated the yarn. So I abandoned and started with new yarn that I had on hand. Much better. There will be knitting today.

We had an earthquake last night. It was smallish 4.6 and not very close (Port Angeles) but according to Mastadon, LOTS of people in Seattle felt it. I was washing dishes and did not feel a thing. Thank you!

We've now been joined by Julio. In a minute they will start wrestling and then take off running. But, until then, I'm not moving.

I sent an email this morning to the moving coordinator asking for details on the 'free wifi and tv' offerings.

The enter button wasn't cold yet when I got an email from her asking about my tech! She had not had enough time to even read my question. Great minds.

Her email was a list of questions like how many TV's will I bring for what rooms. Do I have any laptop, or computer, or tablet or siri device? Hahahahahah Hold my beer.

But, we did settle some things and I got the IT guy's email and sent him way too many questions.

I think I know the answers.

It sounds like the 'free' is basic cable TV, no DVR, probably 12 channels, 6 of which will be TV shopping. 'free' wifi will probably be a password that can only be used on one device at a time.

I think I'm going to need an xfinity account of my own to get enough internet. My current modem will work fine as will my Eeros, however, I don't think I'll need all three of them :) I can just splitter out the cable for TV and internet.

I may or may not be able to get by without YouTube TV. I think I may need the basic cable to get the Timber Ridge tv channel. Or maybe their internal website would suffice.

Clearly I have not figured out as much as I thought I had. ha!!

I have a bunch of stuff in a Timber Ridge wish list on Amazon but I don't want to pull the trigger until the delivery date is way closer to 10/31. But, I'm going to order early if the price of any of it drops for Prime Days. I'll be checking tomorrow.

Time for the painter to come.

And he did! Bret bought the nicest painter/handyman guy in. They are going to strip out the carpet, take out the built ins and then paint the whole place white. It will be fine and look so nice. I told them they could start after lunch on the 31st.

I remembered to ask Bret what I should do with the declarations. The condo declarations are a 3 inch high stack of legal documents which must be transferred to the new owner. I dearly wanted to turn them over to Bret for safe keeping and to get them out of my hair. I took them down off the shelf and before I could even ask he said "you want me to hold on to those for you?" He's just the nicest. I'm very lucky.

I cleaned up the kitchen before they got here so now I can take the afternoon off.
