Soccer report
Jul. 28th, 2002 08:39 pmI don't know too much about soccer. Actually, I don't know much about any sport except baseball. When they say a baseball game starts at 7:05, that generally means that the first pitch is going to be thrown out within a minute or two of 7:05. Apparently soccer is different. Tonight's game was advertised for 8 p.m. At 8:25 I heard this guy singing (beautifully) the Canadian national anthem. Then I heard some other singing that was not to identifiable but I'm guessing was maybe the United States national anthem. Now I hear nothing but I can see people in the stands.
It's really cool to see people in the stands after spending more than two years watching them grow the sucker from a few rocks. I cannot see the field itself but I can see a lot of the seating. Oh, now they are clapping. I'm glad to hear something. They sure are quiet. I'm thinking football is going to be a bit different, sound wise.
