Do NOT pick me up

susandennisI got a note that the car was ready at noon. I called to have them pick me up. 'will do - the driver will call you at this number when he leaves'.
1 pm. I called to ask if there was an eta on the driver. 'let me check' ok ' yes, the driver will be there at 2:15.
2:30. Fuck it. I'm getting a Lyft.
2:45 Lyft drive a block and a half over - be there in 2 mins. FOR 10 MINUTES!! canceled.
3 pm new Lyft driver pulls up a half block away and on the wrong side of the street. I've been standing in the sun for more than 15 minutes. I text him my exact location and stand there waving. Twice. If he had no moved when he did, I'd have canceled another ride.
At least he had the good sense not to try and chit chat.
Julie thought I was a slacker for waiting nearly 4 hours to pick up my car. I told her the story. She was appalled and paid for my Lyft ride. So I felt better. Plus she got my money and ushered me out quickly and efficiently and... this time in addition to washing the outside of my car which needed it so badly, it was embarrassing, they cleaned the interior, too!!! It looks wonderful. Ahhhhhhhhh
So now I'm home and all is fine. And, hopefully, I won't have to do that again until next year.
I did remember that some tire guys I went to a few years ago said I needed new brakes. And I didn't trust him probably he was right but premature. Glad to have new brakes now.
