Quite the Night
Aug. 26th, 2023 09:54 amIn order to get to the world series, we need to make the playoffs. In order to make the playoffs we need to win a lot and other teams (Texas and Houston mainly) need to lose.
While I was having dinner at the Press Club, Houston lost (thank you) and Texas was ahead 1-0. My wheeler dealer buddy Wayne was there. As he whipped by me he said "I should have a decision on your seats for next year sometime next week." ??? er ok. He's so weird but nice and if he can get me a seat, coolio.
Ray, my left hand neighbor was there. He says he's going to miss the next game and the last one and might only have one more game. He's definitely moving back to San Diego. My right hand neighbor, Matt, was there with his wife and two of her customers she was trying to impress. It was an interesting dynamic and it gave me and Matt a lot of time to chat and share the game which was fun.
And then Texas went down in flames. 12-2. SWEET.
We were ahead. We were behind. We were ahead. And, in the 9th, we were ahead by 2 but Kansas City was not going gently. They had the bases loaded when we got the last out. The very full stadium went nuts. It was such great fun.

There's lots of baseball yet to play and we could still tank and fall to the bottom but at least today - this morning - we're on top and it's cool.
I was way too exhausted to go swim today and only went because I probably won't go tomorrow. I didn't have a lot of breath and by the time I actually got to the edge of the pool, I wondered it I had decided wrong. The first lap was horrible and the rest were just lovely. I was very glad I went and I remembered to fill up the car's gas tank. win win
The next Mariner game is at 1 pm today. I'm going to enjoy it from this chair. I have tickets to go to tomorrow's game with Frank. I need a day to chill!
Biggie seems fine and hasn't thrown up any more so whew. Julio is spending his morning looking for trouble.

I gotta go hang up my suit.
