I did not get contacted last night about the install guys today so I called and learned that my window was 1:30 to 5:30 today and I was stop 14. That's all the info I needed really.

I went to swim and then popped into Trader Joe's for ice cream and olives and now I'm home. I actually got a link today from Home Depot and they say I'm now 6 stops before me!

You know, I've never liked Home Depot. I've never liked their politics or service and not been thrilled with how they do business. But, they have been hard to bitch about with this situation. I'm not doing a 180 but I am impressed. I'll be knocked out if they fix my issues without whining.

But, I have a solid Plan B so I'm not worried.

I got two different 220 to 110 plug converters that Amazon delivered this morning. I haven't tried either yet but while I was swimming it occurred to me that the smart money would be to plug in a lamp before I plug in the washing machine. A canary. If the lamp lives...

Ooops now we're 5 stops before me. Think I'll go test out those plug converters.

For what it's worth, for my fairly simple GE washer and dryer installation back in E TN, one visit for each appliance, the Home Depot guys managed to screw them both up. Very glad you have your eye on them and have backup plans!

(Now I forget the exact details, but I think they switched hot and cold on the washer, then didn't properly hook up the dryer vent.)
