On my way back from the pool, I came up in the elevator with Jan and Noel. They live two doors down. Noel is as nice as you can possibly be and Jan is a whiny dragon. Both are pretty clueless. They have lived there for nearly as long as I've lived here. As we got onto the elevator, three young people with giant suitcases were getting off. Jan remarked that she was sure someone was running an air bnb because she didn't recognize them.
But, then when we got off the elevator, she pointed to the unit between us and told me that the couple who live there are at Burning Man. YIKES! She knows that because they are good friends with her grandson and his wife who are also mired in Burning Man mud. Grandson reports they are hearing they may be allowed to leave on Wednesday.
There has never been one single tiny thing that attracted me to Burning Man. It has always seemed like the worst torture possible - throw in rain and mud and mega yuck.
We have cloudy skies here today which are, on the other hand, wonderful.
I really like having a live tv option even though I rarely watch it live. I like having the news - local and national available. I am watching it all less and less but I have not quite gotten to the Can Do Without stage.
My options for watching Mariner games is limited - really - to Fubo. Fubo TV is really horrible. $75 a month for a very slow, very stupid user interface which rarely works as designed and was designed by an idiot and does not carry PBS among other things. I drop it as soon as the season ends. The post season is carried mostly on channels not even available on Fubo. Last night, I just got so disgusted with it, I decided to cancel. My 'month' ends on 9/25 so I'd be without a week of Mariner broadcasts. Fine. I've got radio. I hit cancel. Please please don't cancel. What if we gave you $60 off your next month??? Nope Cancel. PLEASE!! What if we gave you $65 off your next month. Ok. Fine. So I get the last week of Mariners for $10. I'm fine with that.
I went ahead and re-upped my YouTube TV account and was thrilled to see they kept all my settings. So nice of them. It's still too expensive for my needs but I'll give it a few months. And maybe kill it, too.
The Mariner game today is at 10:30 so that's first on the agenda. Then I need to find a new book to start tonight since I finished False Oath by Michael Stagg. It's the 4th in his series and he now has 7. I will read at least one book in between each to make them last longer. Oh, I just remembered that my brother found another new (to us) series and it's in my library so I think I'll start Immoral by Brian Freeman.
Time to focus. We need to beat the Mets today.

Right now, it looks like a great big mess.
I hope everyone gets out safely.
