Things r hummin'
Sep. 11th, 2023 02:01 pmWe went out and met with Pam again today.
Pam is the marketing person handling my move into Timber Ridge. We looked at more units in more parts of the building and I saw the parking (covered garage). And learned more about the place.
I wandered into the absolutely adorable library and realized there are lots of wonderful places to sit and read in there and they have healthy stacks of a bunch of different newspapers. I wold really enjoy popping in there to read those.
I signed the wait list agreement. I don't have the money for it yet. She said no problem, just write the check and they would hold it. ???? Write the check ????? Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever considered taking a checkbook there with me today. Or any day. I'm lucky I even have one and luckier that I know where it is. She agreed, dark ages money transfer. But, hilarious. I came home, found the checkbook and popped hers into the mail.
I picked out my first and second choices for apartments. (I'll scan and upload floorplans soon.)
Now we wait!
There's this cute little diner/cafe not far from there where we ate after our first visit. We went back there today and it's our new favorite place. Then we went on to QFC and then to Fred Meyers. Both places say on their websites and on the Friskies' website that they carry Friskie's pouches. Their pants are on fire. No pouches. None.
So we came home. Bill is napping and I'm sending emails.
To my financial advisor - here's what you are going to have to cough up now and later. We'll talk tomorrow. That should be an interesting conversation.
To my neighbor who knows a shit ton of people - do you know a good realtor?
To my other neighbor who is an interior designer - here's what I need, who do you know and will you do the design work?
Basically, in this order I need:
A downsizer. Pam says before COVID there were lots. Now there are none. Ooops. But someone to get rid of all this shit. And... that can start now.
A stager. The whole place has to be painted and lordknowswhatelse to be sold.
A realtor. To sell it. The realtor will probably know/pick the stager.
A designer. To furnish and decorate the new apartment. I'm hoping Christian (neighbor) will do this but he might be retired.
It's going to be interesting!
We have the game tonight and then Bill gets on a plane first thing in the morning.
