My trip to Timber Ridge was an eye opener. Turns out stuff is happening and there may be an opening for me sooner than I thought. Pam is going on vacation for two weeks starting Saturday and she went to great lengths to let me know that if something pops while she's gone, she's made sure her absence won't stand in my way.
I re-looked at one unit that is now empty. It is being held for a woman who doesn't want it. She wants another one. BUT her kids want her to have this one. They are going to decide in a couple of days. If they decide no, I'm next.
And there's another that is an ADA unit. BUT Pam has petitioned to make it non-ADA. The big drawback is that the microwave cannot be over the stove if it is ADA. There isn't enough counter space to start with. But, it may soon be and it's a possibility.
PLUS, turns out there's a maybe option. I can move into a unit temporarily, and live there until the right unit comes available. The ADA unit is now reserved for a temporary but the unit the couple really wants may come available sooner than they so that would make the ADA one avail.
It is a fast moving game with many moving bits. But all good.
I still have the problem of needing the money from the sale of the condo for entry fee. BUT I want to move and then put the condo on the market. It's doable but probably going to make my investment guy really really cranky. Oh well.
Tomorrow the work continues. More trips to the dumpster OR piles for the hauler people.

Date: 2023-09-20 02:41 pm (UTC)I would think this is a common problem, and that Timber Ridge would have a way of dealing with it. Brooksby (our place) essentially lends you the entrance payment for a short time (90 days?) at little or no interest, on the assumption that you would have the money once your previous residence sold.
