RIP Ethel!!!
Sep. 20th, 2023 03:25 pmI got an apartment!!! My first choice*.
The woman who had actually already closed on it, changed her mind when a bigger one that she really wanted came available. Her daughters saw it yesterday and she flew in from Spokane to look today and they all decided that the bigger one was better and so I get hers!!! (and, nope, I don't think her name is Ethel).
Pam is sending me the paperwork. Then I have to write another check and then I have a meeting with the nurse to see if I have a pulse. Pam wants to get all that done before she leaves on vacation Saturday. I told her I would make myself available for whatever whenever.
So, those of you who marveled and/or were horrified at how I went from 0-60 so far probably need CPR now. Sorry. I cannot believe how lucky I am. I'll be moved by Christmas and probably long before.
*There were others that would have been great and I would have jumped at the chance to to have them but this one had the best kitchen with plenty of room for my ice maker and my coffee maker and my toaster oven. And a big island with counter seating which eliminates the need for a dinner table and/or desk. Also this one has a bathroom for Julio and Biggie. A half bath I don't need which will give me a place to put their litter box.
It has a lovely view with NO tree in the way AND no direct sun.
The downside is that it is a very long walk from the apartment to the pool, main rooms and restaurants. The upside is steps. And, if it's a problem, I'll buy a small foldable scooter (i'm getting rid of mine - it's too big).
OOPS gotta go. Note with dets just came in from Pam.

Date: 2023-09-21 02:37 pm (UTC)I don't need CPR, but I'm very aware that I'm not you. I feel as if my current replace-problem-furniture project consumed as much decision-making energy, not to mention implementation "spoons", for me, as this decision and its unfolding has so far consumed for you. That's probably not quite true, but it's a great soundbite for comparing the two of us. (And yes, I should post about the great furniture project, but feel as if that might jinx it if I post before it's done - silly as that is.)
I expect you'll love the place, and be very happy about the move. I haven't known you all that long, and only online, but you seem to be someone who's all in about anything you decide to do, and it looks, from this distance, like a really good place.
