Last night at the Press Club was just fun. So much fun. And the food was only meh. Weird.
A guy stopped me in the dining room and said "I've seen you here all Summer, by yourself, clearly having a wonderful time and I just wanted to find out your story." Todd. It was a great fun conversation. And we swapped contact info cause, after he learned I was selling my condo, I learned he and his wife are looking for a Seattle place so they could enjoy coming to town more - their home is on the peninsula which is a fair bit out. I promised I'd ping him when it hit the market.
Then out in the seats, Matt who sits next to me was there and we caught up. "So, Matt, ask me what's new!" "REALLY??? That's HUGE!!" He was all full of questions as was his wife. Turns out a friend of hers had been singing the praises of Timber Ridge and just last week she had told him that that's where they were going when they got old. Hahahaha. Then Matt was texting away. "I've got a buddy who's been looking to buy a place downtown." Now Matt's on my ping list.
Ray, who sits on the other side of me, was gone (he had told me he would be) and he had given his ticket to the Vets group. A Navy guy had snapped it up and was really cute and fun even though he wore a Houston jersey. "I'd like to tell you that that doesn't make you a bad guy, but I can't." And then we went on to beat them and finally win a game!
It was just a fun night all around.
Today is my date with Christian to go to the new apartment and measure and make decisions. We're going to meet in the lobby here at 9:30 and head out. I have lists and I have questions and I'm ready to go!
