I can almost see there from here
Sep. 29th, 2023 11:06 amI turned a corner this morning, I think. I did a sweep and got nearly all of everything sorted.
I got everything tagged - green for donate, blue for Timber Ridge and red for leave it here.
Bret, the realtor, came by. He and Christian talked yesterday and they are working on a plan. I told him I trusted them to make the smart decisions and I didn't need to be part of the process except for the check writing.
He's thinking about removing he built ins in the living room. That would hurt. I love them so. But, I'm not going to be involved. Or even here. They will decide, paint, clean and sell. I will be in Issaquah.
He requested a fair number of pieces of furniture be left for his staging and so that's most of the red tags. And said they were also talking about maybe replacing the carpet. Again, not my decisions.
Ah. I just talked to Jill who's filling in for Pam who is on vacation and she better be having a DAMN GOOD TIME cause dealing with Jill is a major PIA.
Anyway, the carpet turns out to be the calendar dictator. She says that ordering installing etc will make October 31 the earliest day I can move in. I'm very bummed that it's so far out. She said she wanted to get my OK before she pulled the trigger. I know what she wanted me to say was, fine, I'll live with what you have there now. NOPE! It's a solid oyster color that will be spotted black and gray with cat hair in two days - not to mention shit I spill on it. NFW. Christian and I picked out a lovely dark speckled replacement.
So I have to stay in this mess until October 31.
I think I'm going to see if Natasha, the move lady, can go ahead and take away 95% of the stuff for donation sooner rather than later. It will mean two trips but if I have to be here another month, I want just don't want to be surrounded by crap.
I'm sure Christian and Bret and probably Natasha will be delighted at the extra time so there's that. And October 31 is still less than 2 months from the first day I walked into the place with Bill expecting to join a wait list of a year or two... So I just need to make the mental adjustment.
And I will.
I feel like this is Saturday but turns out it is not.
Oh and Bret told me the latest condo news... The workers working on the roof fix, broke a fire sprinkler a couple of weeks ago which then led to massive water damage in a bunch of units. Because the last time we had to hire a remediation company, they sucked, this time we went back to ServePro who has sucked in the past but not as much as the other company.
ANYWAY, yesterday afternoon, apparently, ServePro accidentally cut the water line going a refrigerator ice maker going to one of those units and water flowed into some of the same units where no one is now able to live - so could not report it - because the remediation team has the units emptied.
The poor board. They have just been beat to hell and it's not stopping.
