31 days

In the judgiest way possible, I've always looked down my nose at people who cross days off the calendar. Marking time just seems like the opposite of living it.

But now I'm marking time. I'm counting the days. I'm honestly wishing we could get right to October 31 which now seems eons away.

And although the Mariners had a spectacular win last night, their changes of making it to the playoffs are still very slim so there will be no extra baseball distraction.

I have my last Press Club game tonight. The menu looks great. It's on Fox so I'm doubly glad I don't have to watch it on TV and because of Fox, it's at a weird start time - 4. The Press Club gate opens about 2 hours and 15 mins early so I'll be leaving here about 1:30. It will be chilly but they will have the heaters on so at least I know to wear layers that I can easily remove.

I think today I might start moving stuff into the big plastic bins. I have a better feel for what I will need in the next 31 days and what can just get packed up now.

Oh, remember the missing bandaides? I found 'em. I put one pack in with the tools and one pack in with the bathroom stuff.

This morning, I think I'll concentrate on organizing stuff so that at least it feels a bit tidier. I need to make at least one trip down to the dumpsters. And clean up the kitchen. When I thought I was leaving in less than two weeks, basic cleaning got ignored. In 31 days this place will be disgusting. I need to fix that now. I'm looking at you, shower.

Of course, when we got to this point, our thought was "How are we going to get all of this shit done in 31 days?"
