8 a.m. my phone rings. I'm thinking it's the doctor's office telling me she's out sick again today and I don't have to come in. But, no... caller ID tells me it's 'Global Insights'. WTF? A survey at 8 fucking a.m.???? Are they nuts? It's a local number, too. Weird. The machine does it's job and then spits out a message from Kyle who has seen my resume and has a technical writing position that I would be perfect for! ???

Isn't 8 a.m. a little early to be making recruiting calls? Or a little late? If you are trying to catch me before I leave for the office, you are way late. If you want to talk to me, wait until after 9, dude.

But, no thanks. I could do technical writing and have done it but I'm not really technical enough to do it well and it's really hard work! I'll just stick with web production. Thanks.

There is still time for the doctor's office to call and cancel. Oh, wait, she starts her appointments at 8 and it's now 8:30. So, I guess, I can give up the cancel idea. Oh well.

Geesh this same guy just sent me an email. Bless his heart. I was going to blow off the phone call but he's really working it. I guess I'll send him a nice 'thanks but no thanks' email. Nice to be pursued so vigorously!

I think the last serious recruiter call I got out of the blue was that Wal-Mart dude who tried to convince me that living in Arkansas wouldn't suck like a new Electrolux.

My new chair is taking some getting used to. I took the arms off. I'm just not used to chair arms and they get in the way. PLUS, the thing looks much nicer without them. I'm still working on adjustments but I'm liking it so far. I keep thinking there's an adjustment I'm missing that would bring the seat a little closer to the ground but I'm not finding it. So far.

Nice cool and cloudy day here. Sweet.

Turns out I didn't need a stand for the fish cabinet. My friends who helped me place it put stuff under one leg. They said it need it to be straight (the irony of gay guys trying to straighten furniture is not lost on me)... I removed the stuff and it wobbles no more!!
