I have a plan and stuff
Jan. 3rd, 2024 09:08 amI did go swimming. The walk over was not too bad and the walk back was about the same and the swim was wonderful. So, worth it. It took some trial and error but I have now found a position I am fairly comfortable in - on the chaise part of the sofa (thanks, Christian for insisting on the chaise).
I do not know if movement is better or rest is better neither seem great so until I get a prof opinion, I'm going with my own.
I am going to get up every 30 mins minimum. I'll walk around here if it's very hurty and down to the elbow if it feels ok.
I don't have anyplace I have to go or be today. I'd like to go down and get food but that's not a necessity. I can maybe eat lunch up here and then go down and get dinner later.
Enough of that. Now for some randoms.
I found a 3" string of hairball this morning. The camera didn't capture - too dark? So I'm guessing Julio. Both seem fine this morning.
Last night at Myrna's one of the women was Bobbe Evans who is married to Norm Evans who was a big time football player. Google tells me he is 81 and she told me last night that they were in the same class growing up in Donna, Texas. After football, they both spent years and years and years helping pro football players, after they left the game, adjust to life. (This I got from their Timber Ridge bio.) He's now in the memory care unit. She was pretty interesting. As was the other new (to me) person - Mary. She's also a swimmer. So fun to be around different people.
Yesterday I researched eye places/doctors. I found one right next to the vet who takes my insurance. They have a nice website and an email address. I wrote to them explaining that I wanted an eye doctor who would give me a paper prescription for buying glasses elsewhere. I worded it nicely and said I'd be willing to pay extra for the exam for the bye on glasses. I got the nicest note back. She said they always provide the prescription and there's no extra charge and no requirement to buy glasses there and did I want an appointment? Fuck yeah! You win!!
Then I wrote to the place I went to last year to see if I could get those cool eye images transferred for tracking the macular degeneration progress - or, rather, hopefully, non-progress.
Ok. Now I need to get dressed and take the garbage to the chute and get the rug out of the washer. That may be three different trips. My leg is feeling better and I don't want to piss it off.
Julio's trying to figure out if he wants to join Biggie in a nap or just annoy him.
