I got up early this morning and showered and packed up the shoes that I've been wearing and drove 20 minutes to the foot doctor's office. I did stop at McD's for breakfast which was a treat.

I learned lots of stuff.

1. I did not need to make the drive. She thought she would be doing a procedure and that's why I had to go to her office. I don't know why she thought that since my email to her was not procedure related at all. She could have done the appointment here and probably last week. Oh well.
2. All the shoes I brought are great shoes. She has flat feet herself. "These are the kinds of shoes I wear." Cool.
3. She did recommend a heel cushion that Amazon is bringing on Monday.
4. Changing shoes during the day does no harm/no good.
5. She has no idea what's causing my leg pain.
6. She does not like physical therapists.
7. She said I need to go to an orthopedist.

At least she didn't charge me anything and the drive was nice.

When I got home, I sent a note to our health coordinator person and asked her how to connect with the physical therapist here. I got an immediate response that Vickie or Marlena from the physical therapy contractor would be contacting, hopefully, today.

Meanwhile, my leg hurts but not as bad as it has been. I was able to drive fairly comfortably. I even stopped at Safeway (cheese and toothpaste) and the dollar store (misc shit I don't need but got anyway).

The foot doctor may not have been able to fix my leg but she fixed the hell out of my foot problems so kudos to her. After all, as she pointed out, she's ankle down not ankle up. Before I met her, I had a toe that hurt so badly I couldn't wear most shoes, athlete's foot all over the bottoms of both feet and really bad foot cramps. All of those are fixed now so she wins.

I have a million pairs of eye glasses and I cannot find my favorite one. WTF?

We received word that the head of our food services left employment on January 3. The wording of the announcement read like it would have if they had fired his ass for non-food reasons. Joan says that he and the husband of the Timber Ridge Chief Executive are best buds. I overheard a waiter last night tell a table of residents that it was a shock to everyone on the staff and no one had a hint it was coming. Interesting.

I also learned from the food doctor that the head of health services is leaving but Joan says this is a known thing and she's just ready to try something new.

Joan has a new bone medication that she's supposed to take once a week but she thought it was once a day. She's waiting now for her doctor to call her back. I told her if her error turns out to be fatal, I'm good for a Last Party.

It's nearly lunch time and I have no plans. I do have cheese.

Glad to hear your feet are getting fixed. Now working the way up your body. I have had some great physical therapists and only one I'd call bad. And you will at least get a second opinion on seeing an ortho.

Once a week, once a day. Potato/potato.
