So this morning, Bret told me that the jerks down the hall had put their unit up for sale. He didn't mention that he was the listing agent which is kind of weird since one of the couple selling is a home real estate agent. They were a mis fit from the get go. Both of them. Assholes with attitude.

They bought in 2019 and poured a ton of $$ into their unit. It is bigger than mine by 300 square feet and has two full baths. And two parking spaces but $950,000???? Oh well, makes mine look like a bargain. BUT, wait, mine is off the market! Well, Bret wasted no time there. Ha.

This is good though - if theirs sells, then yours will comp out at a higher value - so either you can list it for a bit more, or - like you say - yours will look like a bargain!

Waiting really seems like a great plan, since it can be done - with interest rates so high, a lot of people are just holding tight - they don't want to give up a mortgage rate of under 5% to buy something at 6-7% if they can wait. Interest rates are supposed to be coming down in a few months. (boo! as someone who isn't paying any, but wants to *earn* interest, I am enjoying the higher rates, LOL)

Does the assholes condo actually look like that or is it staged that bland? To pour a lot of money into such an avalanche of beige seems like a waste of money to me if it actually looks like that. If it's staged, fair enough. People seem to like boring when buying real estate. I'm not certain it's that way so they have a clean (edited to say I was looking for the word:) empty canvas for their own ideas or if a lot of people are just boring.
