So I boxed up the puzzle and wrote a scathing post it note and taped it (belt+suspenders) to the box and took it back to the puzzle closet.

Joan said I should try 'shopping' for new puzzles in the 4th floor elbow and boy, was she right! They have two credenzas stuffed with puzzles - a way better selection than the puzzle closet. I picked 3 and left them on our table.

Then, with 30 mins left before time to pick up dinner, I went out to start one. I picked a fancy 1000 piece German puzzle with 'soft snap pieces'. And I put the other two on the shelf.

Here's something that REALLY needs automating... Turning 1000 puzzle pieces right side up. With the premium of picking out the edges. Why the fuck hasn't someone invented that yet?????? Alexa, set up my next puzzle!!

Anyway, before I got far, Myrna came out and started helping. She noted that one of the others would have been the one she would have started. "Well, next time, you'd better make that known!" We're still working out our puzzle procedures.

I went down to get dinner and came back and Joan had joined Myrna. I did a little more and then went to eat.

After dinner I was watching Ted (the TV show on Peacock which is weird and actually, pretty enjoyable), when Myrna knocked on the door with BREAKING NEWS!!!!

There is a decorative plant on a round mirror that sits in the middle of the puzzle table. They had moved it a bit for more room and when they moved it, they found... under the mirror... 24 puzzle pieces!!!!!!!

I was going to put them back into the box this morning on my way to the pool but the room was locked so I left them with a note. Stupid puzzle pieces.

We already do a thorough floor check periodically. Now we'll have to add mirror check!

I skipped brunch this morning. They don't start serving until 9 and that's just too late for me. Plus, I can make a good brunch here. So I did.

I might run to Papa Murphy's this afternoon. I ate my last piece (from the freezer) last week. I like to keep some on tap. Plus Joan likes their chicken and artichoke so I could pick up one for her, too. And I want some oatmeal so there may be a quick pop into Safeway.

There will for sure be puzzling and knitting and TV.

But, before all of of that, I'd best get dressed.

The puzzle drama! I'll bet when you moved in you had no idea how your life would change.

I hope when the time comes for me to move I can find someplace like yours. I get such a kick out of your posts.

In defense of automation, it is quite difficult for robots to tell which side is which on a puzzle...

"There will for sure be puzzling and knitting and TV." With very minor tweaks, RETIREMENT GOALS!
