Slow Saturday for a change...
Jan. 26th, 2024 06:53 pmI snagged the maintenance guy who often looks after the pool, at lunch yesterday and grilled him. He said they still had issues and were going to shock it again. So we are days away from use at best. Very sad. Before I moved in here, I prepared myself for pool issues. I had stopped swimming because 1. lazy and 2. breathing issues that I thought at the time might be swim related. I looked forward to the pool BUT knew that it might not be for me.
Cut to now. I love that fucking pool and have woven it into the fabric of every one of my days. And now it's gone and my days are raveled. I do not want to rebuild them. I want them once again pooled. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed.
I went to physical therapy yesterday. The PT guy is really kind of annoying. He wants to move to Austin, Texas for reasons that weren't at all clear but I don't really care. Nor do I care about an hour's worth of hearing about all the great things Austin has to offer. I care about my fucking leg pain, dude!!
I was not an easy case. My leg has hurt for months. Until yesterday. It woke me up in the night and then did not hurt one single bit all day. Not one. So what was he supposed to fix? What a mess. I have another session with him Monday morning. I'm going to do his exercises and see how it goes and likely cancel the other sessions until/unless I need them. I don't want to hear about the great bands, the rad beer and the cute girls with two names in Texas.
We finally finished the puzzle from hell last night. There were two pieces missing. Out of 1,000. But, we didn't care. We were just glad it was done. Likely it will be a while before another 1,000 piece puzzle gets a chance. I like 'em but I don't like the bitching and moaning of Myrna and Joan. The reality is I don't really care. Any puzzle is fine. And, after this one, I don't think either will be reticent to pick one next time. Which one do you want or do you want me to pick it? hahahaha
And check this out! From yesterday's bulletin...
TR Puzzle Swap
Saturday, February 3, 9:00am-11:00am, Talus Hall
Puzzled about what to do with your extra jigsaw puzzles? Or where
to get your next one? Did you know there are over 450 puzzles in the
Timber Ridge public areas alone, not to mention those hidden away
in your apartment closets and cabinets? The puzzle swap will
include lots of puzzles to choose from!
The puzzles will will be collected from floor elbows. Please put all
your extra puzzles on a table in your elbow by
11:00 a.m. on Friday February 2. They will be picked up by volunteers
for the swap. Bring your shopping bags! Excess puzzles will be
donated to the February 25th puzzle swap at the Issaquah Library.
How cool is that???
I may do some pre-shopping in elbows on Friday :)
Generally Saturdays are rushed to get two hours of volleyball in before elbow coffee. No rush today. Sigh.
Bret's still waiting to hear from his insurance. Apparently there was so much water pipe damage from the cold snap that the insurance company had to fly in extra adjusters who are still too busy to handle it all. I sent him the electric bill - $53 for last month but his share was only a week. I did a very rough calculation and asked him for $20 for his share. He wrote back that he'd just cover the whole amount - to make up a little for the delay in rent. It's not the money I appreciate as much as he attitude.
Time for a shower and the dishwasher needs emptying. And there's still plenty of time til coffee. Buggers.
