Hitting my old people limit
Jan. 27th, 2024 12:04 pmIf Joan tells me one more time that she needs to bring out the puzzle that Hazel brought her from Alaska... she's now told me every single day for a week. Just bring the damn thing out and shut up! Or that her friend has a wooden puzzle she will lend us. I finally told her today that I have no interest in a wooden puzzle but there is plenty of room on the table for two so have at it.
If Myrna doesn't shut up about selling her shit for the food back, I am going to go nuts. She has a bunch of very expensive and lovely pocket books and a box of probably very expensive but junky looking watches and she wants to set up a table at the upcoming bake sale, sell the stuff, and give the money to the food bank (where the bake sale money is going). It's not until the 9th of February and I'm over hearing about it.
Too much elbow coffee conversation and not enough volleyball. I think that's my problem.
Today there was a huge conversation about the food. How it is served, where it is served, when it is served. Sooooo much complaining. OMG.
Richard (who also plays volleyball) had a good point which he took way too long to get to but was spot on. Timber Ridge needs to study the restaurant and eating out trends of right now and start planning because the young adults of now are developing restaurant habits they will keep when they are old and move in here. Timber Ridge needs to be ready. But change around here could not be more difficult to implement.
Last week they changed the direction of the dinner buffet line and I'm telling you a nuclear holocaust will not have as great an impact.
BUT my apartment is wonderful. I just had scrumptious trout almondine for lunch. The cats are happy. I have a good knitting project to work on and TV to watch. And ice cream. I can stay in here and speak to no one.
It is raining hard. I love the rain. I do. I don't even mind if I have to go out. It makes everything look green and feel fresh but I swear it feels like it has rained - hard rain - every day since I moved here. In Seattle, rainy days are few. It's cloudy and gray a lot and sometimes misty, but rarely rain like this. I wonder if Seattle has been this rainy since I left.

I've still been reading your entries, through LJ, and enjoying your life, in the "cult" :)
