I just read my brother's entry about his being cranky about the dentist office systems. We're different. Cranky would be kind compared to how I feel about all dentists and not just about their office systems but...

I'm also cranky today. For way stupider reasons.

He says:

I think old people become so impatient as we have seen the same crap so many times that when we are presented with it by happy, shinny people who ask us to repeat thing we've done for 70 years it's annoying.

I think old people (and other people) become so impatient because we get so very tired and so very insulted at being treated like idiots. If I give you and indication that I have not comprehended or remembered your information, feel free to repeat it. Otherwise, please tell me again but wait until I'm dead or deaf or out of the room or all of the above.

Yesterday I got very annoyed at specific people and specific situations - beyond what was reasonable. And this morning I don't feel much better about any of it. I miss the pool. My leg hurts. Etc. Nothing critical or even worth the energy but still it's like plaque - it builds up.

I did sit down and watched a PBS drama that really took me away. After the first episode ended, I realized it had given me a lovely break from the cranky. (Funny Woman).

I do not want to be a complainer - especially not here. I have a really nice place to live, free food, a pool (sometimes). I can get in my car and go if and when I want. Complaining is like ugly graffiti on lovely. I'm determined not to fall in that trap.

So today I'm going to stay in here today. I'll watch some more Funny Woman (I have 3 eps left) and knit and avoid people. Maybe later I'll go get some poke or a Papa Murphy's pizza. Or not.

But, as long as I'm cranky, I'm going to keep it to myself. It's the least I can do.

I did just get the email from USPS. Two pieces of welcome mail will be coming today. One is the code from the new library. It will enable me to validate my new card so it does not expire in 60 days. The other is my first rent check. Bret sent an email on Monday saying that the insurance company has not approved the amount but he thinks they will so he's sending me the check and a copy to them for approval. I'm not sure what will happen if they don't but I'm not going to worry about it.

The cats are subdued today, too. Wonder if they are cranky?

Julio will be happy because I'm getting ready to take a shower. I close the door because I turn on the overhead heater. When I'm done and dry, I open the door and there he is ready for his playpen. He spends at least an hour playing with the drops. Cheapest cat toy on the planet.

Not cheap is Biggie. I got a note this morning from the vet. She wants another urinalysis on the 1st of March. The problem is that she might find something that she wants to treat. Mr. Money Pit. I'm going to Scarlett O'Hara the whole thing and deal with it in March. Maybe.

We watched the first episode of "Funny Woman" and gave it a hard no. Different strokes, etc.
