So just after that last entry, I took 2 ibuprophen and my leg quit stabbing me immediately. I usually have only psychosomatic luck with OTC pain relievers. This was probably more of that but I was grateful.

We have three large glass and wood display cases down on the 1st floor. There's a committee of residents who decide what goes in there and then makes it happen. Myrna is on that committee and works hard at it. They change on the last day of the month. So today when I went for my 2nd pool visit, I made sure to go see all three.

When I got to the end of an episode here which was about 4, I wandered down to Myrna's to tell her she did a good job and the Japanese rummy cards were my favorite (the theme for two of them was games and the third one was Valentines). We had a lovely short visit and she said there were drinks at 5 in the elbow.

She also said that Ingrid is looking for someone to help look after her cat while she's away soon. Myrna's not going to do it. Joan's not going not going to do it. Susan's not going to do it. But at least it was good to get a heads up that the request might be coming my way. Ingrid's the type that if something happened to her cat while she was gone, she'd take you to court in a heartbeat. Nooooo thank you. I wouldn't mind swapping cat sitting duties but not with Ingrid.

I can handle an hour of elbow drinking and then it will be back to me and the boys and the knitting and TV.

Yeah...it's a red flag when THREE other people are not willing to do something!

Hooray for OTC drugs -I'm glad it helped, even if it is psychosomatic - no pain is no pain!

I worked for a professor who had an old Siamese kitty. One summer the prof went to Israel for book research. Kitty had to have heart surgery. Her parents were taking care of said kitty, and he passed. They called me because they didn't have her phone # (this was before everyone in the world had a cel phone). I didn't have one either. I had to do some frantic calling around and with the time difference said professor called about ten minutes before I left for the day. I wasn't going to tell her to call her parents for the news, at that point, so it was my unpleasant duty to tell her. I cried on the bus, on the way home.

I would ask you to take care of my kitty. But I get why you don't want to take care of Ingrid's.
