Myrna listened to arguments and agrees that my thinking is sound so I'm not going to the pool meeting. I just don't want to be an insurrectionist. Maybe if I had reason to believe Timber Ridge wasn't doing everything they can to fix. But, to the contrary, it's been rare that I've been there and not seen people working on the issue. Maybe if I'd have lived here longer but as it is, I just don't want to be known as one of those people.

I walked to the pool this morning and it's pretty darned clear. I wouldn't be surprised if they opened it back up this week.

I also walked two floors of the North Ridge wing. I saw a cool cat sculpture when I was there last week. I don't remember which floor! Not the 7th or the 2nd which are the two I walked today... Tomorrow I'll do the 6th and maybe one or two more.

My new shoes are fabulous. Years ago I was a huge skecher's fan. They once gave me full price for a pair of shoes I'd worn for more than a year (it was a design they had lots of law suits over - people falling) so not a huge surprise but slick, even so. I don't exactly know why I stopped wearing them - maybe it was that falling thing. But, I'm sure back on board now. These are light weight, attractive and really comfortable.

I love Skechers! With the exception of one pair of dressy sandals, all of my shoes are Skechers. They are so comfortable I don't want to wear anything else.

Been thinking about all the bitching you're reporting. For those who live in senior living communities, so much is provided -- nice stuff, including meals, house cleaning and maintenance, and other amenities (gym, pool, library, even PUZZLES!) But - despite how nice it is not to have to take care of these daily tasks, human instinct still wants to feel in control of one's life. So - you find something you can control -- and it translates into complaining. Plus - people who complain about the small stuff have too much time on their hands.

Ray's parents were at The Cypress (a community similar to Timber Ridge in Hilton Head) and also talked about complaining residents. You wonder if it becomes the MO of persons whose life's control is slipping out of their hands.

You're smart not to get sucked in and know what is worthy of one's energy. And what's not!

I've been sort of wondering about the insurrection (LOL) because from what you've described, the pool techs have been working hard to get it back in shape - it's not like they are ignoring it!

I'm also kind of surprised, that they haven't been putting status updates in your daily "briefing" newsletter thingy!

I'm a huge Skechers fan too. My son works there now, so I can get a friends and family discount, which makes it even better! I like their Bob's line.

I also walked two floors of the North Ridge wing. I saw a cool cat sculpture when I was there last week.

I often walk around the halls of our complex for exercise (if the weather is bad or I don't get around to doing my walk until it's getting dark out), and I've seen some remarkable displays on the shelves outside people's apartments. (I have a few photographs of such on my phone; maybe at some point I'll re-figure out how to get them onto my computer so I can post them.)

Our place is, I think, much bigger than Timber Ridge (something like 1,700 residents). One of these days I'll dig around on the website and see if I can find an aerial view like the one you posted the other day.
