My last mattress
Feb. 13th, 2024 09:16 amAt first my leg kept me awake and then kept waking me up. Then it was my back and now it's just random body parts that get really uncomfortable at night. I used to wake up only when I needed to pee. Now I wake up because something hurts and, while I'm awake, might as well pee.
Then yesterday, I switched out blankets to a lighter one and noticed immediately, that there is a giant dip in the middle of the mattress.
I need a new mattress. This mattress is a high end job that I paid way too much for and assumed it would be my last mattress. I just looked and the thing is 10 years old. When I asked Google how long a mattress should last, it says 7-10 years. Fine. Whatfuckingever.
Mattress shopping sucks eight ways to Sunday. There are 9782 options ranging in price from $100 to $100,000. ARUGH!!! I hate choices. I looked at Amazon and I looked at Costco. I need delivery and removal and neither of those offered both. Costco says 'delivery, setup and removal included in the price!' but every mattress says 'delivery only'.
So I'm going to manufacture simplification. The outfit where I bought my adjustable bed has a store here. I liked the way they handled my business. So I'm going there. Today. And buy my last mattress.
Money I did not want to spend. And speaking about money I did not want to spend... the County posts their real estate tax bills tomorrow. I would have loved to have sold that condo before now but, alas, the bill is mine to pay. I'm guessing it will be about $2500. That's for six months. I hopetogod the damn place belongs to someone else before the second half is due.
And speaking about sucking. I plan to do some today. I got vacuum bags for my blankets and linens and I am going to suck the air out of them for more efficient storage. That's on today's menu.
Also it's house cleaning day so that's when I'll go mattress shopping. Also I need to go to Costco.
Stay tuned.
