I bought a mattress, I went to Costco, I went to Safeway and then I stopped and picked up a Papa Murphy's pizza. While my house was being cleaned. Efficient!
I discovered that there are two Mattress Firm stores within spitting distance of each other after I bought my mattress. Joan was bitching about there never being parking at the mattress store next to Trader Joe's and I pulled in there to see if she was right. It turned out to be a Mattress Firm and there were several empty spaces in front. I figured the one down the road that I thought was Mattress Firm was probably something else. Mattress Firm was what I wanted so I parked and went in.
Kristiana was working the shop alone but it was empty. I had printed out the receipt for my adjustable bed and told her I wanted a mattress to fit that. I wanted to conserve coin and I never wanted to ever have to shop for mattress again. She got it immediately. Asked me questions - not hard ones - and pointed me towards one that I tried out. It was fine. Can I try a cheaper one? It was fine. Got anything cheaper? One. And that's the one I got. $578 even all in delivery and removal included. (My current one was $1,300 in 2014.) It's probably not firm enough. It's way squishier than the on I have now but maybe I'll like way squishy. We'll find out tomorrow.
They will call me tonight with a 2 hour window "you don't have to answer, they'll leave a voice mail". My kinda call. So the deed is done.
Someone put a very delicious Valentine's Day cookie on my shelf.
Myrna caught me as I came back in. She has friends over on Tuesdays for drinks. I've been once before but have managed to dodge the invites since. I could have wriggled out of this one but didn't. No biggie. It won't kill me.
I love my reorganized closet. So much. And the vacuum tracks on my carpet.

Date: 2024-02-13 11:33 pm (UTC)I think it was worth it but it has a pillow top which means it can't be flipped. I've turned it a few times but am starting to feel like we may need a new one.
We'll see.
