My brother will be here for dinner. But just barely. His flight is scheduled to land at 4:15. Figure we'll leave the airport at 4:45. With rush hour traffic we'll get here 5:30/5:45 ish. Two of the dining rooms close at 6 and the third one at 6:30. So if there is any delay... But, we don't have to eat here.

Today was another really good volleyball game. Good players and fun. The main guy is out - he's got heart issues and is wearing a heart monitor. He's kind of the heart and soul of our play so it's been hard without him so I think it's more fun that the games have been so good. When all but one of your players is over 75 years old and one is 92, you kinda gotta expect some fallout now and again.

Today's house cleaning day, too.

I had a long talk with myself last night about finances. I reviewed all the numbers. Had I elected to stay in my condo until it sold and I could use that money to move in here, I would have been way better off financially. I knew that then and I know that now. My tax bill would be way lower - probably a refund. I could have moved more cheaply. I could have saved money by not painting here or there and not changing out the carpet in both places.

I made all those decisions knowing the financial repercussions. I looked at all the numbers again last night and imagined myself not here but back there. It was a great exercise. And, even if I have to pay $20,000 in taxes, I have no regrets. I'm glad I didn't wait. I'm grateful that I was able to choose not to and I made the right choice for me.

I had a great 30 years in downtown Seattle and I love it here in Issaquah at Timber Ridge.

On Saturday, when I popped into Trader Joe's, I spied a box of bunches of daffodils that were still stems and buds.

I grabbed two - one for me and one for Myrna. Myrna put her's near the window and they popped out immediately. I put mine on the island (not near the window) so it took longer. Also Julio knocked the vase over and broke it so I have now challenged him with a plastic tumbler. And here's what those buds look like today - Tuesday.

Now to get dressed and make my bed and get going on today. It will be time to leave for the airport before I know it.

I love daffodils!

And - no regrets! It is what it is - and I'm glad you are happy with your decisions! The tax bill is ouch, but it sounds like you will figure it out.
