  1. Tina - Tina is 92 - a retired OBGYN - doesn't know how to swim. So she wears a floatation belt and sticks to the wall there but still gets in a lot of play and loves it. She's generally late to the game because she walks outside (up and down the hills) every morning.
  2. Sylvia - is a problem. She has long fingernails and so is a danger to the ball. Her attitude is why the guys, in particular, don't like her but they use her fingernails as their objection point. She is pretty obnoxious. And does not, we all appreciate, play on Saturdays.
  3. Wally - is really really really nice and funny. He misses a fair number of games because of skiing. He's over 80.
  4. Linda - is really nice and a good, long time player. She and Wally always bitch that the water is too cold and the air is too cold. And when I point out that the thermometer is reading 82, they point out that that thermometer is sometimes wrong. Cracks me up.
  5. Steve - kind of runs the show. He's the one who sets up the net and gets everything ready. I usually get there when he does or just before and start pulling the lane lines. When we get set up, we start even if it's the two of us. We often get 20 mins and he's been a great teacher.
  6. Richard - is a pretty good player but is also everywhere at Timber Ridge. He and his wife, Martha, are so nice and volunteer and run a bunch of different programs here.
  7. Will - Will is a widower who's ways are set. He's a very energetic and fun player and a generous one. He's also the kid. 66 years old.
  8. Holly - is tiny. She's only 78 which is young like me. She's tons of fun and also comes early so sometimes joins Steve's learning drills.

Bob had a doctor's appointment so he wasn't there but he's a great guy. Cecil came after the photo was taken. He's ex-military and nice although I don't think he approves of women. Judith also came late and she's nice. She's like 80ish and just adopted a 13 year old cat. Her first cat ever. And Bill (not brother) is a very generous player but relies on his dog to wake him up in time and his dog is just not that reliable.

Sometimes 12 people play and we get a back court which leads to some wild action.

There are no rules. There is no score. There is a fair amount of trash talking.

Usually, the person who retrieves the ball, hits it to the person who missed the last shot to give them a chance at fast redemption.

It's just fun.

In case you missed the video.

You're a real-life game of Pong!

I love this post!

They all sound kind of fantastic in their own way, but Tina is just sounding more awesome every time you mention her.
