Yesterday turned out to be sewing day. I wanted to fix the pockets on one thing - make them deeper so I hauled out the sewing machine. I recently moved it and now it's way easier to get to and I have an idea for making it even easier. I got my pockets fixed and then I did some more mending. My stuff is on the way from JoAnn's so soon there will be real sewing. My kitchen island is fabulous for working on stuff like this.
We also did a fair amount of puzzling yesterday. Joan picked out the puzzle but hasn't touched it. And after my bragging about how I don't care and will do any puzzle happily, I hate this one. It's just too fiddly. It's one of those where the cuts aren't distinct. What appears to be a correct fit, turns out not to be. So. Ugh. Myna hates it, too. She suggested that she said she would not be unhappy if someone came in the middle of the night and made it disappear. So we started talking about the puzzle hit man. He was a no show last night. Regardless, we think Joan may have lost her picking rights.
Myrna's going to a movie this afternoon that she has been so looking forward to and probably I will pop out to Safeway and maybe Papa Murphy's while my cleaner is here. So there may be a break in the puzzle action.
I need to do laundry and pick up stuff around here.
I'm debating whether to drop the H&R Block lady a 'how's it going' email. I'd like to know but I suspect it's either not going or not going well and I don't really want to know either of those things. Maybe next week.
My phone continues to ring off the hook. Today's strategy is to just swipe down which takes them to voice mail. Tomorrow I may just leave it on Do Not Disturb.
Now I should get dressed.
