What a lovely consolation prize

I have had a day of frustrations and annoyances. It's been one little thing after one big thing after another.

But, I just went down to pick up the dinner I ordered earlier today and what a wonderful surprise.

Often the descriptions don't really tell the tale. Today, they undersold the goods. Isn't it georgous?

Now that's a nicoise salad. Since we've had to start eating healthier at home, I've been making the fixings for nicoise on the weekend, so that they're easy to make all week long, but we just use canned tuna haha. BUT my boiled eggs are better. I do a nine-minute egg so that the yolks are just barely solid. At the bakery, we'd do seven-minute eggs, but I think that makes them a bit too runny.

I'm ok with the eggs over done. The only time I really want to call the egg police are on serious violations of poaching.
